There is this guy that I work with in a large factory that has a stock 96 z28 auto. He wanted to race me really bad ever since I got my car. Well the opportunity never arose and in the mean time I added stage 2, intake, ingalls, and so forth. So yesterday leaving work i pulled out right behind him and up to the stop sign. We both turned out onto the 4 lane road. I pull up next to him doing about 30-35 in 2nd. He says that he does not want to race because his transmission was bad. Then he punches it and then I do as well. I pulled about 2 car lenghts on him to 80-85(the road was ending). Well he pulls up next to me at the stop sign and is like DAMN that thing sounds sweet. He said that he wants to REALLY race me when he gets his tranny fixed.

My question is... What can be wrong with a tranny that he claims he cant race but then he punches it anyway? He also claims that there is no way that my car would be able to beat his. I could care less either way but I am just curious.

Sounds like a dirty trick, followed by a serving. If he'd won he'd probably have said he was just kidding about his tranny. But, I can't say for sure, you may want to ask him about his tranny prob on Monday.
