ss/sc vs bug-eye wrx sentra

2 kills over the past 2 days so i figured i'd just mention them briefly

First race i was on my way to a buddies house on the highway.. a nissa sentra (i believe... 4 door car with a R on the side of it.. not sure if thats a model or a ricer mod added..lol).. a younger kid was driving it and we started from about a 50mph roll and ran up to about 100mph where we shut down with me leading around 2 car lengths when done.

2nd race.

me and 2 buddies were heading back from the bar to a buddies house when we were sitting at a light and made a left... nothing out of the ordinary until i here the hhsssshhh sound coming from the rear and a bug-eye wrx pulls up beside me blowing his bov like mad hell and revving at me.. i didn't want to race due to the fact i had a good bit of extra weight from passengers but i said **** it.. we started from a roll of about 35 and ran up to about 100mph in which i won with around 3 car lengths.

i figured he was probably ******* with me so i see a light in the distance and we go from a dig.. again.. we run up to about 100mph with me winning by a solid 5 lengths... out of the dig i gained a good 3 car lengths and put the other 2 lengths on him as we were going..

i am somewhat suprised on the wrx win.. well especially that large of a win.. im not an import knowledge database but a buddy of mine suggested that he probably put on some bov that is killing his performance.. only thing i can come up with is poor driver mod.. wrx had a different BOV and exhaust.. i could pick those up and thats it.

bumps me up to 8-0 now

Nice kills. The Sentra w/ the "R" on the side is called a Spec-V.

WRX definately had a bad driver with bad mods...he should of if nothing else beat you from a dig then you play catch up and pass around 70+ mph. With the BOV sounds like the typical ricer thinking hes Toretto when he actually cant driver for ****...

Good kills...

good kills but do you have a 2.0 or a 2.4, seems like you should have beat the se-r by more than that, and the wrx guy must have sucked ***** if you beat him out of the hole

i'm banking on the bov on the WRX being the cause of his misfortune. If those aren't tuned for a BOV, they lose a good amount of power since the air is recirculated and so it's technically metering the air twice.

and the SE-r musta been a spec v b/c my 2.2 put about 2 cars on a regular SE-r from a 2nd gear roll

ummm actually...bov's are bad for wrx's cause some ppl use 100% atmospheric bov's so it dumps all the air out instead of what a stock bpv(bov) does, which is to return the air bak in. The reason why atmospheric bov's are bad for wrx's is they cause the engine to run rich between shifts when the bov is venting. Thus causing conflicting issues between ecu parameters and the unwanted richness when bov's are being used causing the engine to run crappy. But its not to the point where you're gona lose 10-20hp or anything. Can't really say the wrx lost cause of the bov. Stock 2.0L wrx's are slow....without turboback/tune etc its not that crazy.

i woulda smoked him more but there was traffic ahead of me and i was just toying with him... full gas/half gas while only staying a few lengths ahead to keep it interesting..

the side badge was SE
R

i own a 2.0

the wrx was a complete joke out of the whole.. the car had good ***** from a roll.. but out of the dig he just couldnt get that thing to go.. im leaning more on driver suckage then car suckage

No problem. I duno much bout SC'ed cars....but I guess that's why we're all here...to learn more bout cars and stuff.

But yeah bov's don't hurt performance in terms of lost HP...but at least you get really nice richness fume smell as well as it backfires enuf and when I had mine on for a lil time, my car would shoot flames after a hot run on the highway and after 6 months my bumper was charred and messed up. BOV's just hurt Subaru's more cause apparently the ECU's and especially the JDM ECU's are real finicky. The JDM ones cause change up to a few degrees of timing just based on gas type.
