well I do not often get into these what will beat what ,but this time I have to .I dont care what car and driver or really any thing else says I walked a charger 2 times from a dig he pulled on me but by 3rd he was all mine and from a roll that car stood no chance. this is what I found as far as specs go for the rt
0 - 30 (sec): 2.6
0 - 45 (sec): 4.1
0 - 60 (sec): 6.2
0 - 75 (sec): 8.7
1/4 Mile (sec @ mph): 14.32@98.63
30 - 0 (ft): 30.02
60 - 0 (ft): 121.06
Braking Rating (Excellent, Good, Average, Poor or Very Poor): Excellent
Slalom (mph): 61.8
Skid Pad Lateral acceleration (g): 38.9
Handling Rating (Excellent, Good, Average, Poor or Very Poor): Good
Db @ Idle: 50.0
Db @ Full Throttle: 77.6
Db @ 70 mph Cruise: 72.1
Acceleration Comments: We achieved our best time in the Charger by turning the ESP (stability control) off, then utilizing a "street start" (flooring the accelerator at launch rather than power braking it). The Hemi V8 provides a broad, even powerband with strong pull from idle through redline. The transmission upshifts at 5,500rpm, even though the redline is marked at 5,750rpm. Manually shifting does not net a faster time, as the trans still shifts when it wants to at 5,500rpm.
Handling Comments: This is a big heavy car that needs plenty of advance action and turn-in to get throught the slalom. Steering feel and weighting are both excellent for such a large family sedan, but a high dash and narrow windows make it hard to place.
Braking Comments: The R/T has big disc brakes, and they bring the 4,000 pound sedan to a halt in a hurry. Pedal feel is progressive and firm with minimal ABS vibration. Front end dive is hardly noticeable, and the car exhibited no fade whatsoever. Overall the Charger felt capable and confident.

It all really depends on the car. You can weigh the charger down so much with options. Dodge should have made a stripped down version of the R/T with cloth

idk what kind of V8s youve driven but my old 77 c-10 had no problem hooking with a 383 400whp in it. i think our ss/sc suck at getting traction more so then the V8s

I may just race him how I am now for ***** and giggles. I personally think it will be a close race. When you factor in how heavy a charger is compared to a cobalt, it will be close.

^^^ he has the 2.4 (which btw... is >>>>>>> ss/sc )
oh ya... and ss/sc all the way. kid sounds like a turb-bag so I know how ya feel, but I would be careful those chargers are preeeetty powerful...though the numbers aren't what i'd thought they'd be. I'd go with the s2/3 plan like everyone is sayin.

1. i was talking about the guy in the LS that said he got walked by a charger from a 60 roll.. and if you didnt know, LS = 2.2
2. if you were referring to the guy that started the thread, he has the SS/SC.
3. and if you were talking about me, i have the 2.2 as well. that is all.

This was the first stupid question/mistake you made:
And this was the first correct answer:
Racing is for the track. If you think different then you don't even belong behind the wheel of a car. Nobody wins a streetrace. The only thing accomplished is showing how stupid you are.

Misunderstanding drama ftw
Amen. Ill admit, I was guilty in the past for street racing (mainly back in high school). But I stopped doing it a while back just b/c it was time to grow up and stop putting myself and others at risk. Recently, I had a friend on another forum die in a street racing accident on a major highway (racing his EVO vs a 3 series BMW). That too was a HUGE reality check.

I raced one from a stop, he got a head start because I didn't know we were really going to do it (dude was like 50), I had a passenger, I'm a big dude, and I started to gain back ground around 40mph. We were dead even at 110. Get stage 2 and you have a chance, even if it is slight at best. No stage 2 = no win for you.
