I'm on the freeway driving home. No traffic ahead of me in sight and about 1/4 mile behind me. All the sudden a silver Corvette comes out of the middle of nowhere and pulls up to my left side and matched my speed. Then he downshifts like he wants to race. I see the chrome Z06 badge on the side and said to myself, "Why bother? If I race it'll be no different than if I stay at my current speed." Then he drops the hammer and runs like a raped ape. It was nuts. Does this count as a race? Doesn't matter. A loss is still a loss. Anyways, he gets off at the next exit and I decide to follow. We both caught a red light where I rolled down my window. He did the same and we talked. He said that he always wanted to test drive a SS/SC. I said I'd let him as long as I rode shotgun, but he had to understand that I only had half the power he had. He then declined. So I left at the green light and went home.

It's funny that you say that. This happened on the same stretch of freeway where some riced out Civic challenged my little bro to race in his 82 Z28 Indy 500 with, I think it was, an auto tranny. This Camaro was a POS. He was restoring it and had just finished some work on the engine to restore it to stock before working on the body. The guy in the Civic threw a rod just trying to keep up with my bro. Ironically, my bro popped the connection on a vacuum line shortly after getting off the freeway. All he had to do was pull over, reseal it, and he was on his way again.

He's not a ***. Sometimes when you're out you just feel like ******* with lesser cars. Ive ripped apart many a srt4/cobalt ss/camaro/ mustang/ old muscle cars... in my Z06.

If you were driving a low 11 second car. Would you really waste gas ion one that can only do 13's depending on mods.

Then again i did pick on a supercharged monte carlo SS lastnight just because his exhaust annoyed me.

If I was in it to save gas id drive a honda civic hybrid. Like I said before you just do it for fun. But sometimes I do get suprised like when I was messin with a 350z on the highway. I thought ez kill. NOt so I only beat him by 2 cars. Turned out he was twin turbo. So you really never can tell that's why if it's safe I find out.

Usually when a car thinks they have a shot against a z06 they will instigate the race. Not the other way around.
