If I would have known when I first got my evo, I wouldnt have bought an intake. I was misinformed then.

Stock injectors are 560cc which will handle any bolt on mod. The problem lies in the MAF.

Every SS/SC owner should be familiar with this to a certain degree. We may not lose performance... but we definitely get that nasty "TOO Lean" CEL a lot.

Thumbs up

I have a 2007 WRX-STi STOCK(07 ecu is POOP) I lost to a ss/sc from a 40roll by 1/2 a carlength. He has an Injen CAI and a CORSA exhaust that he cut the resonator out of. We also raced from a 20roll and were dead even.(the 2007 model has an ECU malfunction and it either pulls like a monster or it doesnt...)
Overall Im very impressed that the SS hung in there. He plans on getting headers and stage 2. So he should beat up on me pretty good lol.BTW the 07 was dynoed at 242AWHP/250FTLB.

I seen a stock 07 sti dyno at 240whp, added a turboback and header and put 280whp down. He got tuned and put down 330whp and 389wtq!!!!! Maybe it was a factory freak, but WOW. Only a few mods and BOOM youve got a monster!

07 Limited STI's are pretty much the same as all other STi Gen's. The difference from what I know is the body is obviously a lil diff. The DCCD ratio was changed from 35/65 in the 04-05 sti's and i think from 06-07 it was changed to 41/59 in the rear. Also, new STi Limited's have a new TORSEN LSD in the rear diff as well as a new turbo (VF43 slightly larger housing and slightly larger internal wastegate). I also heard Subaru spaced out the gearing in 3-5...not sure on that.

But here are some dyno numbers some guy posted:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1151951
The guy pulled 319whp/389wtq with just headers, turboback and tune.

are any of you guys near santa clarita, california?

i have seen maybe 10 SS/SC's on the road since they came out. never had a chance to run one, or an ion redline for that matter.

i would really like to run one of these cars stock or modded with my wrx, really dont care. i have seen one run at the track(LACR), dont know if it had mods or anything, but it got **** for times.

ive raced 2 evos and 1 sti. i beat 1 of the evos(appeared stock)and lost to 1 (it was quite obvious that is was heavily modified) and ran pretty even with the sti but pulled on it up top maybe 1 car,all from a 45mph roll, with the very light mods in my sig. i have also raced these same cars from a dig but i pretty much always loose even when i star to pull up top. but then again if i spent the extra 15k i saved by not buying an evo or sti it would'nt even be fair.

seems a lot of people say that

to be honest, most of the time, the buyer saves the $15k because they cant afford, or cant justify spending $15k more on a car.

in all actuality, $15k into the car most definately could make for a very powerful car, but at the end of the day you dumped a little under 75% of the car's value into the car, and many other people cant justify that, especially when the end result is a car with a lot of useless power. also, that $15k gets used up really fast if you try to make the car equal to the more expensive car in all ways. big brake kits, for one take up a large chunk of cash.

and i could walk into South Coast mitsubishi and buy a 2006 evo IX GSR(not the stripped down RS) for $30,000 out the door. unless i can get a brand new SS/SC for $15k out the door, it is highly unlikely that i can save $15k over buying an evo

another thing to consider when making the "money i saved" comment, is that it only points out that you didnt do those things, nor will you be likely to spend that much on the car.

i could say to you, hey the $10k i saved buying a hyundai accent over a cobalt SS/SC would make the accent slaughter a SS/SC. it doesnt factor in that the person who bought the more expensive car can also more than likely afford to modify it. evo9's run 11's with under $1600 in mods, no nitrous.

it really is a stupid arguement, and it applies to anybody who brings it up, such as an STI owner i know, he was commenting on how his lightly modded STI was much faster than a Carrera 4s, while it was true, at the end of the day, the STI is a econobox with a turbo and the Carrera is a porsche.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/war-stories-54/stage-2-vs-modded-evo-9-vs-stock-sti-20082/

read that link then argue. your not going to beat stock stis and evos in a stock ss/sc. you will tie them in stage 2. a stage 2 with 2.8 and youll be dead even with a rex cobb stage 2.

i have videos to prove those. everything else i read is just hearsay.

if by "stage 2 evo9" you mean turbo back, KN filter and a tune, well then stage 2 evo9's are frequently running high 11's at the 1/4 mile
