SS/Sedan Vs Civiv Si

Sorry but a stock SI isn't running a 14.5 1/4 mile. Besides 97 mph is a 15 second car, go check out my thread about the Motor Week test of the SRT Caliber. It runs the 1/4 in 15.0 @ 97 mph.
Actualy best I've seen is 15.55.

I have seen close to stock Type-S's and Si's run mid 14's (CAI and a Cat back).
It is not uncommon if they launch em right, which usually you only get about 3 launches out of a clutch that way
The new Si is faster than our SS/NA's, the ones you are running into can't drive, there is no other way to look at it.
EDIT:And on our official 1/4 list for the 2.4 there is one person who ran a 14.9x

Thats odd considering that even the 6th gen forum calls BS on those kind of stock time claims. And thats from SI OWNERS! SI's are low to flat 15 second car that are hard to launch the 2.4 SS is running the 1/4 stock in the mid 15's. Thats more of a compitition then a stock 14.4 SS/SC.

are u freaken kidding me?..i think just think that u should stick to who U can beat because we know what we can beat and can't, and an SI doing 14.5 stock is one of the dumbest things i've heard...how do u figure a stock SI with 197 hp and 140 tq or w/e doing a 14.5 @ 97 and then have a SS/SC--> 205 hp and 200 tq do like 14.7 @ 97 stock? doesn't make sense unless u weigh like as much as a honda fit or sum bull

And Si's are running better times than a 2.4SS because they have more power...it just comes on in the second half of the track.
I know everyone is going to sit here and be like glory to the Cobalt, I own one, I have beaten Si's and lost to Si's, and the ones I have lost to have been after 100mph...plain and simple.
In the quarter the RSX Type-S and Si are faster than the SS/NA.

Sorry I'm not into believing everything I see like some people do. I mean if it makes you happy to be gullible thats cool and all but on you tube I've also seen an 11 second bone stock Cobalt SS SMOKE a Z/06 in a 1/4 mile. He even posted it here! Its amazing what you can do with video these days. As for my being an idiot I would like to point to YOUR own proof YOU offered as my retort. I said a stock SI will not run a 14.5 and your links prooved that for me, thank you.
Now as for a SI killing a 2.4 SS like I said before BS as I've raced and beaten several of them. And yes I've lost once to one. So its NOT impossible, sorry.

The Si is an easy 96-97mph car in the 1/4 and should run mid-high 14's, stock. Considerably faster than a 2.4, and slightly slower than an ss/sc.

2nd vid- how in the hell do you know its stock?
3rd vid- all those mods and dr's and it only traps 2 mph higher than the other two vids you showed?

There are a bagillion different variables to consider...

You can hear those cars are stock, and I personally looked over an 06 Si at the track when I went. After about 5 runs ranging 14.6-14.9 @ 96-97 he ran a 14.5 @ 97. I couldn't believe it either, but alas, it was stock. At a shitty track in the heat no less.

my buddy runs about 15.2 -15.1 @95mph with intake and cat back, his buddy runs 14.8-14.7 @97 . with intake full exahsut and header with no cat...our track sucks , the locals call it orlando spin(speed) world...dont underestimate the new SI.

Oh your right about that! If you do you lost! A 2.4 driver needs to work his ASS off to stay ahead of the SI. They aren;t turds by any strech but I just get tired of people who DON'T know saying they can stomp a mud hole in the 2.4 SS like its nothing. Its a much closer driver race then SOME people give it credit.
