i agree, the civic with a good driver will beat a 2.4, but a well driven 2.4 can def. have a shot at beating a poorly drive si

And thats all I've ever said my friend, that the 2.4 DOES have a shot.

Some of us 2.4 guys puttin it to Si, need to remember we have cams, heads tunes etc... we should not speak for all 2.4s. that being said,I have raced against my car in my buds si,they will take and beat a stock 2.4 in the upper gears, all these 2.2s and 2.4s beating them is basically half track times, the si needs the whole 1/4 in order to get its times down.this pisses of my friends with SIs because they keep getting beat on the street by everything, like I said they are getting 14.7-14.9 at the track with a good launch and good driver.

dont forget, the Si that i beat was not the newer ones, it was a 2002, there a little slower then the new Si's, if he had a new one, i would of probably been beat cuz those new one are pretty fast but it does go bout the driver, hell 1/4 mile im running high 15s all day long, if my tires dont spin a lot.

Ah so a car that runs mid-high 15's (2.4ss) is now a drivers race with an Si that runs mid to high 14's. But say the Si is a drivers race with the SS/SC which runs mid 14's on a good day gets you ultra-flamed.

This site makes sense.

except you even failed to "prove" that a stock si runs mid 14's. you "proved" two stock ones could run high 14's. most are in the low 15's. good job.

In his defense

Most of the ones I have seen at the track stock were running high 14s...along with the Type-S's...not trying to start anything, the Si is faster than an 2.4SS but not by much

i do a fair bit of reading on alot of different forums, and i can tell you for certain the SI is capable of mid 14s. (14.6)

but in the same way that the ss/sc runs very low 14s, but most run 14.5+
the civic SI might be able to run 14.6, but most run low 15s.

And i dont know if its just the way the civic has been driven, maybe its a tough car to get all the power out of i have no idea.......but theres alot more civics running 15s, than there are ss/scs running high 14s.

the SI is NOT a drivers race for the ss/sc on average.

the 2.4 is NOT a drivers race for an SI.

that being said, can an SI beat an ss/sc? hell yes. its very possible.
can a 2.4 beat an SI? equally possible.

You mean kinda like how an SS/SC is slower then a GTO but they still can beat them right? And I loved your reply "it sounds stock" Your funny.

I NEVER said that ALL 2.4's can beat ALL SI's all I said is that they CAN DO IT. To date I have approx. 15 wins and now 2 loses to the new SI. Believe me or not I could give 2 good poops less but don't wright a car off due to your ignorance.

Please that car is an embarassment. The ss/na cobalt can beat a 06 si stock for stock. It will be a close race though but the balt nudges out in the top end. Seen it plenty of times.

I can't wait until i get my typhoon intake and install that this spring when I put my G5 Gt back on the road. I'll definetly wanna try racing against the civic si. I was soo close to getting one before I bought the g5 but the dealer wanted too much for it.

don't need anyone to tell me an Si can beat me, one simple mod such as cams and then there is not much of a debate, and thats how the si gets its numbers=through a more agressive cam profile.Take it to the "cones" Does not matter how much hp you have if you can't drive.

Wow... people keep coming into this conversation REALLY late. AND you ALL need to get your heads out of your asses.

An SS/SC can run 14.1 Stock. BUT HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE DONE IT??? Not very many. The same goes for Si's running 14.5's. YES, it can be done... but it is rare.

I've done a lot of racing, I've set up a lot of racing, and I've watched a lot of racing. The SS/SC SHOULD always beat an Si... does that mean that they ALWAYS will? No, there are a lot of None-Driving mother-funkers out there! The Si SHOULD always beat an SS/NA, from a dig at least. Does that mean that it'll always happen??? No. Roll racing is a whole other story.

EITHER WAY, wake up and smell the coffee people.

EDIT: WOW... I was just on 8thCivic dot com... and THAT is a goofy group of people! Haha...

I noticed, I saw a thread where a guy asked, "I've got a stock 06 Si.... and this guy at school has a Trailblazer SS... Can I beat him?"

And some guy actually said, "It should be close..."

There did seem to be a lot of uneducated people... but they had their Scholars as well. Much like any site I suppose.

i can't stand slo show. that being said, i'm gonna have to go ahead and laugh with him at this rediculous post

please stop talking out of your ass.

when i had my ss s/c.. civic si's were giving me way better runs than the 2.4s..
for example: this dude at englishtown with an si sedan.. his mods were: front mount air intake, and a race header. i beat him, but you 2.4 guys would've gotten owned (no offense intended, but sometimes the truth hurts)

Meh Slow SHO is just a troll everyone knows it, probly owns a mid 80's Corolla with a nice aluminum wing and no muffler. But yeah the SI does take mods real well! Go check out my post about just getting PWNT by one today as a matter of fact.
