some kid wants to race me and he has an 02 mustang gt . i think its a 4.6 or 4.8
V8. Do u guys think i can take him. im all stock. do i have a chance from a roll or dig.

Only expierence i have had with a stang is a 2003 mustang GT, it had an exhaust, CAI, and stage 3 clutch.

From a 40 roll we were dead even up to 70ish and than i started pulling

Older GT's aren't all that quick anymore (BTW it's a 4.6l), but from a dig you're most likely still going to get nailed.

You're around 225-230 crank, he's about 260 crank with more weight (about 3300 lbs). If it's a vert, it's about 200 pounds heavier than the coupe.

S2 doesn't have much of an issue beating stock '99-'04 GT's from 40, so I imagine you may have slightly more of an issue, but once your stocker starts pushing triple digits I think you'll start pulling away. IIRC those cars aren't known for their top-end. Take out your spare tire and run him with 1/8 of a tank if you can.

From a dig, it's a driver's race with the advantage to the Mustang (assuming 5-speed coupe, since it wasn't specified), but you've got a good chance from a roll.

Oh, and take it to the track.

5 speed mustang gt stock is a low 14/high 13 second car, i beleive he can take you, should be close though

i beat a 96 cobra because from a 40 roll dude dropped his stang in 3rd and i dropped into second he didnt catch til about 85 he sucked at driving but he owns a ford

From a 40+ roll if he's bone stock you should hang with him fairly well, slight edge to the Stang in my experience. You should pull slightly harder in the triple digits as someone else has said. If he has boltons I'd call it a loss for you. From a dig you'll have a rough time, edge definitely to the stang. Get Stage 2 or put it together yourself and you'll have no problem with stock and full bolton GTs

u can take him from a roll or dig. i smoked 1 when i was stock by 2 cars from a 40roll

if it's a 5 speed, you'll loose.

when i was stock i lost to an 01 GT.

now, with all my mods, it's a completely different story..

i beat couple mustangs gts from a roll from a dig different story i raced a 350z from a dig i barely got lucky to get a small jump but we stayed neck and neck lol
