First time at track with da goat.

First pass it ran 14.50, second pass 14.60. Both runs with fans on low speed. 1200 rpm launch. 2.2, 2.3 60 ft. 40 psi in tires.

3rd pass, 14.25,14.14,14.25, 13.96,... 2.1 60 fts. 28 psi in tires.



New Personal Best....
My previous stock best was 13.75 @ 103



I opened my mind a little and found both of these threads at the web site in your post.

I also found that the time for the GTO are all over the place from 13.0-14.6, something doesn't seem right But what ever I like them both beleave it or not also the cobaltSS of course

(I am no means Cobalt bashing, I had one ordered before I got my GTO, and actually paid a few hundred less for my GTO than what the SS would have cost me. I like the car, and have driven both, im just adding my 2 cents)

More horsepower, more torque, more to the wheels, way more displacement.

I don't care if we are on mount everest (elevation wise), the GTO will win everytime.

The GTO can stall in first, bog 2nd and miss 3rd and still own a Cobalt SS. Sorry, these stories are funny

I dont think any of us were Cobalt bashing, more just debating the STi vs GTO race. Times are all over the place as the rear gears are the saem depending on the transmission, but the auto has 2 less gears, which effects its performance.

IF this is talking about the auto vs manual of a GTO, then you do realize that you shouldn't go into 5th in a manual T56 at a 1/4 mile (stock)

Jesus this is what I get for not visiting here in a while. Ok listen, I love the Cobalt SS. I think it's a cool little car, nice engine etc. But I also have common sense. RWD 350hp beats FWD 200hp from a roll everytime.

The cobalt guy isn't every saying that he won either, just that he thought he did better than he should have. That's fair, but "the gto pulled on me" could mean a lot of things, we don't know by how many lengths, how hard the GTO was pushing it, etc. etc. etc.

SS's guys you have an awesome car but if stock for stock you come up against a GTO and want to race for cash...walk away.

Ok, you can stop talking now, I've been driving more then likely a lot longer then you have and yes I do much street racing. A GTO will not get beat stock for stock. I admit it and I drive an SS/SC Red Cobalt. That Cobalt better be packing some heat because if the driver doesn't suck driving a stick your history.

And if you beat a GTO it was more then likely an automatic with the guy half thorttling his car.

the point trying to be made was the GTO wouldnt win by that much... not whether it would win at all.... so vut the crap trying to defend your cars on the COBALT website... of course your going to cause an arguement. The GTO will ebat the SS that isnt the issue... the issue is by how much...

Also when somebody says oh I was messin around and only lost by a half car or something like that... there is no need to be a ***** and start pulling out numbers and talking abotu .3 seconds diff.... thsi was a messing around on the street...

All I got out of reading this thread was some info that people are way toooo defensive if they are argueing about their car winning by only half a car on the street

Every '04 GTO I've seen run at the track ran mid 14's at 95-98mph. The Cobalt SS's have been trapping closer to 100mph. So, IAW what I have personally observed, a stock Cobalt SS/SC should be able to pull away from an 04 GTO.

Perhaps all of the '04 GTO's I've seen were autos. I don't know. If posting my observations make me an "Asshat" , then whatever. You guys are so adamant about "protecting" your cars' reputations that you haven't even realized that I don't even own a Cobalt, SS/SC or otherwise. I own a 2003 SRT-4.

Now if you ever want to bring your GTslOw down to Az, let me know, I'd be more than happy to blow your doors off at Speedworld or Firebird.

i have yet to hear about a stock 12 sec 6L ls2 bone stock
i think the STI would smoke a 04 GTO in a dig
and 350 hp is 350 hp, flat spots and all, if they went at it there must have been in 2 diff gears or auto

Just a threads from my board, just because you havn't seen it, doesn't mean they arn't there. An 05 will beat an Sti as said, compare trap speeds and times, and 04 would have a hard time though.
