i have a buddy with an sti and he is wanting to race this friday .... he keeps braggin that he can take is stock sti and beat the crap out of me .... should i race him???????

hmmm.... 300 awd hp vs 250 fwd hp... if he's stock it will be closer, but either way i think he'll win with the sti... he'll instantly put a good distance on you from the launch... if he's modded, you're gonna see the back of his bumper right away...

if he can't drive worth a ****, and is stock, that's a different story...

dang the best i have ran with the stage 2 was 14.37 at 100mph maybe i will get lucky it is not and 06 it is a 04 so she has some wear on her

Yeah STi will win unless his misses a shift or two. The regular awd WRX would be a closer matchup. I think they make something like 230hp.

Yes, he will not "smoke you" like he thinks. They Dyno around 260 AWD and you will dyno around 245 FWD. He will more likley be able to take you from a dig if he knows how to drive. You have more of a chance roll racing. I say do it.

i will race him but i will probally race from 40 mph roll and see how it goes i wont talk any smack cause i know they are suppose to be fast but i thought i had a chance from a roll ... i will let you guys know how i do

Well since no one can actually state what mods he has, i would say it will be closer then you think. Especially if you have the 2.8" on there and the tune done by then. Like you said, just race him from a roll.

I have intense stage 3 and magna flow muffler. I raced my buddies sti and I was sitting right on his rear bumper from a 5 mph roll. Only reason it's close is because of our redline. The sti will jump ahead .5 a car when they are close to their shift, but becuase they have to shift you catch right up. Go race him. I want to know how Gm 2 does against one.

I did the same kind of pulls. It almost seems that that faster we rolled race at, the more advantage I had. We did pulls at 40-60-80-100 basically, I won both top rolls. You should of seen the look on his face. He seemed soooo happy to race someone that could keep up the way I did. If you search in the threads hard enough you will find my whole story.

My stage 2 no other mods resulted in me getting whooped off the line by a couple cars. Rolls, he won the first, second was tie, then I passed him on both others. You should be able to perform better than me, just consider that you will have to get used to these mods first.

do not race from a dig... he will make you pay, go from 30+ my good buddy has a sti that puts 328 awhp, i watched him race a ss/sc that was stage2 at the track and beat him by 3 seconds he ran a 12.4 and cobalt ran a 15.4 wasnt pretty, youll stand a better chance from a roll above 30mph, but good luck let us know how it goes....

alright i will race him from 40 first then 60 and what the heck then try 80 just to see what my new found power will have in store for me.... i know his car personally and i know it is all stock and he can drive the car ok i guess but i have never really been in the car when he was really gettin on it ...... well will see......... hope rob can come thru for me on that tune.

AWD cars are sorry as hell for top end, especially stock. These cars tend to have us beat up until 100mph unless you are modded well, I say if you race up to 120mph you should be either ahead of him or level.
