35 roll is PERFECT. Sitting in 2nd... 35 is right where you SC just kicks your car in the ass and gets it moving FAST!
60mph is definately bad... that is right before you shift in 2nd... and just out of the good pulling powerband of 3rd...
and 80... No need for that... but you should be pretty good in 3rd at that point to make it a close race.
But a 35 roll, you have the BEST chance of taking him. That is what I would race from. Save 75-80 rolls for a$$holes on the interstate. There really is no point. But all this is how things work in my eyes.

my buddy has a 06 wrx and we've dont rolls from 20, 40 and 60. From the first two runs were pretty much even. He may of had the slightest lead. From 60, I had him by a car and a half to 120. Hes no STi but hope this helps. Rock em!

Why is there any question. Simply put the STi is a faster car.
You can try all kinds of stupid tactics to give yourself an advantage, a 141mph roll, a race up a hill, racing with your eyes closed, in reverse, in neutral rolling down a hill, etc.
13.0 stock > 13.9 modded.

Adding a 2.8 pulley , and tune up from Rob like u said .....I would race him . At best its toss up if the ST1 is stock . You "should" have a solid 103-105 mph in the 1/4
While yes I do agree the STi's are capable of a 13.0'ish ET stock , I have yet to see with my own eyes one go faster than a 13.4 in a stock one .
If ya do lose , I garantee he wont beat you near as bad as he thinks he's gonna beat you . Jus dont screw up driving

ok i just saw proof of the tested 13.0. cant argue with that. i still say the cobalt with his mods will win from a roll though. look at trap speeds as somewhat of an indicator. i will gladly video tape any stock STi that wants to run me from a roll. you gotta keep in mind that yes it is a 13.0 car but look at the stats, yes this is magazine racing but thats all we have at this time.
sti= 300hp, 300 ft. lbs of torque, weight 3315 lbs., AWD. quarter 13.0@ 103.5
SS/SC= roughly 250 hp, 240 ft.lbs of torque, weight 2950 lbs, FWD. quarter (with a good driver) 13.5-13.6 at 105-106.
how is this a land slide victory for the STi? i would bet the ss wins this one, and im not being a fan boy, simple conclusion based on data and real world experiences of mine
