STI From a dig....

Umm, No it won't, you got your numbers backwards. I won't even bring up what happens from a roll.
And sorry nanaki you really need to get over the fact that I told 99-04 GT owners a SS/SC could keep up with them. And like others on this forum I traded up to a GTO, at least I owned a SS/SC you how ever never have.

I definately agree... I've seen some cars get stomped my STI's in the quarter... on the street... most were stock STI's as well... now after the quarter mile... thats a different story because awd cars are usually not known for their top speeds...

Why does every STi post end up stupid like this.
A LS1 F-Body/LS2 GTO will easily reel an STi in and tie or beat it in the 1/4. And from a roll you could short shift either car and pull on a STi.
Stop all of the bullshit lies.

Don't know about an STi but the #s for the wrx as far as I can find are;
Manual-25% drivetrain loss.
4EAT -30% drivetrain loss.
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi 4.6 = 13.1 (Exotic car test)
2004 Pontiac GTO LS1 5.3 13.8 (Exotic car test)
2005 Pontiac GTO LS2 4.8 13.3 (Car & Driver test Jan 05)
If we want to paper fight, this is specs... and I'm going to assume professionals were used for testing. (Site)

Why are you so biased to one way... a 2005 GTO with an LS2 runs a 13.0 in the quarter... nearly identical to the STI at 13.1...
Quit bein an idiot and think more than... my car is the fastest in the world...

I agree with Codyss statment if both drivers are equal in driving skill. But not everyones a good driver so im sure people have seen stock stis beat LS2 gto's in the quarter. But you proabaly already know that.

On average, it is A LOT easier to get quicker times out of an STI than a GTO. If you take the fastest time ever for a GTO and the same for an STI they are the same times. But if you take AVERAGES, the STI is ALWAYS quicker than a GTO.

So AWD>RWD>FWD
60 ft times are faster resulting in a faster 1/4. Remove that 60 ft time, well that is where power takes over and you can see who has the better average.

Well, yeah, cause with an AWD the learning curve on launching is much shorter. Average Joe can launch an AWD.

Thank you, it is definently not as easy as people think.

then stay off the internet, because it's full of them. i do agree that it's annoying though.
people just need to understand a few things about SOME other people:
1) They're NEVER wrong.
2) They're car is the best
3) They know more than you do
4) They will never back up what they say with proof
5) They have been picked on their whole life, so now they can be tough because there's very little chance of actually seeing the person you're being tough with.
Majority of internet "trash talkers" fit into at least one of these categories.

w3rd, to your mommy.
6) Or they drive a slow ass car and feel so "humble" that they feel the need to comment and insult other people.

it has nothing to do with a persons' car... that person was an idiot before they bought the car, and will still be an idiot when they have their next car.

The bullshit starts when people see a magazine test for a STi that runs 13.2 then one that says GTO 13.5.
The completely ignore the average times for the STi then compare them to the average times for the GTO.
Both cars being driven by awesome drivers the GTO will win.
STi's average the same mid-high 13's but GTO's trap higher.
