STI From a dig....

ya....
STIs are crazy my friend has one and we raced (07 ss stock) it was like he was the only one racing... and i just sitting still almost. i didnt expect to win to that engine and awd but it is nice sometimes to know that you have a little ways to go still.
but it does feel good that i can beat 02 bullits by 1/2 car

If you launch an AWD car, with the right DCCD split (Driver Controlled Center Differential...if I'm correct) the car will move like no other (and paste your ********* to the rear bench seat at the same time) and be very hard to catch, unless you have another AWD car and/or modded tires and suspension work on the RWD/FWD. I've owned a NA Grand Am 5sp and a NA 5 spd 2.5RS and my current i, and I can tell you, no matter how I played with the clutch, the Grand Am could Never get anything near the launch my AWD cars did, just phenomenal dig starts.
On defense of the GTO's...your 1st-2nd gear shift is probably worlds better feeling then the Suby trans.

The bullshit starts when people see a magazine test for a STi that runs 13.2 then one that says GTO 13.5.
The completely ignore the average times for the STi then compare them to the average times for the GTO.
Both cars being driven by awesome drivers the GTO will win.
STi's average the same mid-high 13's but GTO's trap higher.

Ok... so now... apparently trapping higher speeds means that you are faster in the quarter mile... you don't seem to know much about cars do you??
STI's trap slower... but because of awd... they have better traction and are just as fast...
Ever tried broadening your horizons and researching some different kinds of cars?? I also stated that the 2005 GTO went 13.0... not 13.5...
I'm still putting my money on the STI in the quarter... by your average driver... I might even consider putting my money on the STI with a both having perfect drivers... I think I will elect Peter Solberg for driving the STI...

the new sti is very fast and can definately break into 12's with a good driver. cody is soooo anti anything that he doesn't own. new sti>gto with average drivers in the quarter. the gto as you know cody is real hard to launch and alot of people don't even get lower than mid 13's with them for a very long time. The new sti's will easily hit low 13's. EASILY. now it isn't to say that the sti is faster because it isn't, but gto's run very inconsistent times at the track.

Well, when all that energy has nowhere to go, such as burning up in tires and what not, it has to go somewhere I believe your talking about the Black STi in a parking lot. If you pay attention, he sucked at even launching, it dropped rather than launched, which is what did it in. No playing with the clutch or anything, just dropped it. He deserved that shredding though haha. Highest I'll launch is 3.5-4k, because I'm missing 2 letters from the back of my model name

and unfortunatly most people that own cobalts can't drive worth ****, so yeah high 14's is usually the norm..
but please lock this thread... I can't stand idiocy

Also to add Tofu never backed up his time on that list, and I don't know STG2BALT.
Didn't you have the airbox mod?
