Well the guy I raced was a 16 year old kid who JUST got the car and he just wanted to play around with it so we did and for him not knowing the gear ratios or anything on the car, he did pretty good. I gave him props. He beat me by 1/2 a car length.
The second guy I raced was a 18/19 year old guy and he had his for a few days and he asked me to race cause he likes the cobalts a lot. So we took it from a stop and he stalled before he got the car moving I think because he just didnt move at all. He then got it going and beat me by a car length. I also gave him props.
So yeah they didnt know how to drive it and I admit it. I know the cobalt cant compete with the cobras. But they are some nice rides man. =)
Oh and they were the new body style stangs if that helps. idk the year.

idk is it me or does the new model mustang look better than the GTO.
Not trying to hate on you man, I just don't like the way the GTO looks. Its to...idk how to explain it. I just don't like the looks on it. But its a great car none the less.

This is just my own run in with a few mustangs im not on anybodys side here....A few days after i got my SS/SC i was going down the interstate and a silver 02ish mustang gt wanted to go. We take off i have no idea if its auto or not... I shifted into 3rd and we run up to about 120mph. It was so even it wasnt even funny. Nobody droped back or pulled at all. Well about 4 months later on that same strech of high way here pulls up the same mustang. I remember the steeda sticker in the 1/4 glass. We go agian LOL....my car has more miles on it and its alot cooler outside maybe around 45 or so. I pulled a whole car on him well over 100mph. Im still waiting on round 3 and im hoping I have stage 2 by then
The only other mustang that I have raced was a mach 1 around the same year and from 20 to 80 he had a olmost a full car on me. I was impressed and so was he.
So what I have learned about them is the SS/SC likes the cooler air more and stock Gts are a hell of a close race.

i think it was an 02 GT, he said all he had was a flowmaster exhaust. (I had ZZP 2.9, 42 lb/hr, and tune only.) ... it was a long time ago. the guy was cool. the first time he decided not to down shift, the result of that one was obvious. then i slowed down, he realized that i was a contender, then we ran again.. dead even. when we got to the light i asked him what he had done.. "flowmaster".. then he said "you should put the SS badges back on"
I personally have not run into an ******* mustang driver.. i dont know why everyone hates on them.
are you talking about the actual wild horses that roam the great plains?

any avg driver in one of those GT's can take a good driver in an ss s/c from a dig.
assuming both cars are stock.
from a roll however, i agree.. both drivers being even, the coby is faster.

I think ive had a 50/50 experience with them in person. They are either really interested in the car or wont look over after being beat and drop back or drive off like a bat outta hell. I guees some just cant grasp the whole physics concept and realize it is possible for a 4-banger to beat a V8.

as for the "im with stupid thing" s197 gt's have gone 13.3@104 stock. msrp is 25,695 for a base model, so as far as i know, and until you prove me wrong, that is the quickest new car for the price right now. And the v6 is the quickest new car under 20k (retails at 19k and have run high 14's). Again im not trying to start a heated argument or anything, but these are just facts. If you have other information ill be glad to admit i am wrong, but as far as i am aware, both are the fastest cars at their price.
and cody if price doesn't matter why is the ls2 gto not compared to the gt500 instead of the gt?

have you ever seen the majority of cobalt owners that come over there?! codyss...good representative to send to a mustang forum. seriously, there are a few members with cobalts that even have the little icon bar in their sig that has a pic of the ss, with the supercharged logo and they dont get ****, then some come in and talk like their cars are GODLY. Someone from ss.com came to the mustang forums and tried to tell us his car could run with i think it was uhhh...doodads car? from a roll....yea ok, doodad runs 11.7's trapping in the 120s. I think everyone just hates on everyone on other forums. You guys have a horrible rep in alot of forums, mustang forums has a bad rep, club rsx has the worst rep ever, uhh srt forums is frowned upon terribly. It's just stupid arguing all over the internet...ever looked at the comments on streetfire? there are a maximum of 10 comments on each vid before it turns into either domestic vs import, evo vs sti, or camaro vs mustang.

Since you asked... Here's a comparison. Oh yeah, plenty of people have recorded 400 - 415 instead of the advertised 390. I personally believe Ford did this purposely to make amends on the problems with the 1999, and 2001 Cobra.
