Lets see...

2002 Honda Civic Si 7.6 15.8 (R&T July '02)

so your telling me your stock honda, with LOTS of clicks on it..managed to shave half a second..stock..of R&T's testing back in 02...last time i checked..cars lose horsepower with age..
i understand shaving time off of tests is very do-able..considering ive done it..but by half a second on a "weathered" car seems a bit unrealistic

Isnt there a Ford forum in existence for you? Or is it being fixed or repaired daily?

You're getting confused here. I'm saying that a 2000SI is very comparable to a 2.4SS. They run about the same times and in this race the Si just pulled away as the speeds increased. What WILL 'demolish' a 2.4SS Auto (as the kid claimed to have in a previous post) is the 06+ Si that are good for 95+ trap speeds stock.

Lets recap...

2.4SS ~mid 15's @ ~87
2000si ~mid 15's ~89
06+ SI ~mid 14's @ ~95

This is what would happen if you raced my old SHO that I sold almost a year ago...

I drive a GTO now though, so you'll have to think of a lame GM joke to crack.

God who ******* cares, a 98 Z24 (stock) used to rape both my friend's 2000 SiR's (Si's were SiRs up here) back in the day when we thought street racing was cool. **** happens. Get the **** over it.

OP, a kill's a kill, so props on the win. I've seen quite a few races with 2.4's and '02 and older Si's go the 2.4's way though, so even though you won, 9 times out of 10 I'd still put money on the 2.4

I won't call BS 'cause I wasn't there, but hey, anything can happen, ya?

If you don't think a 2000si is a drivers race with a 2.4ss you're head needs to be removed from your ass. Advantage, si.
looks to me that you think the SI has a advantage over the 2.4..or..is..equal??? Looks like your opinion changed pretty quickly...

why are we arguing? because i know stock for stock a 2007 cobalt ss.24 is faster then a 2000 honda civic Si with 150,000 miles...to contiune to argue between us is pointless because we both have our heads up our ass's when it comes to this...

end discussion

My opinion never changed. In the race we had the Si was just a bit quicker as the speeds increased. It wasn't a demolition. I said the 06+ Si would demolish...

i totally believe this. my friends b18 out of 93 ls integra kept up with my sisters 2.4 stock auto. thos b16s out of the 200 si's are quick as ****. my friend has a 200 si with 100,000 miles and i will race it with the 2.4 and show how bad it will win.

your car can be capable of 13 damn second 1/4 mile time but if u suck at launching my 15 second car will own ur ass.

I'm sorry my 150hp 97 cavalier never lost to an Integra GSR, or a Sivic SI, stock for stock, only stock car that would get me by a bumper was the Prelude SH, So unless the 2.4 Cobalt has really shitty gearing then the that driver sux. cuz an extra 20+hp and tq stock from factory should own GSR's and SI's. dont come out with magazine times bro its all about reaction time. when that light goes to green or hands go down all depends on how u react to it.

I've noticed in this thread alone uve nothing but negative through out it. wonder how much other negative bs u have posted.

Oh yeah and TQ matters.

Maybe he's just talking out his ass so that when someone calls him on it, instead of everyone figuring out he doesn't know ****, they can just say, "Oh he just likes stiring up the ****, he "really" knows what he's talking about". I'm willing to say that if he DID know his ****, he would've bailed out on his taurus (this car doesn't deserve a capital T) a LONG time ago.

I think what that guy is saying is complete bulshit. A manual 2.4 can definetly take a 2000 si. You know why I know is because my 2.4 dohc nissan altima creamed one last summer. I also know my g5 gt is alot fast than my altima so if i had that same race again with my g5 I rape that honda again.

the best way to settle this is call out all 2000 si whether it be on the west coast east coast and race it out and post the videos on youtube all this back and forth sh doesnt do anything we all know balts will smoke a si hondas dont want that kind of trouble once there is a vast numer of companies that will make upgrade blowers for the balt it will be over for all these sh talkers balts4life

The SS might have the more powerful engine, but I think weight plays a large factor here. The civic is significantly lighter than the cobalt.
