The new Camaro has no purpose, too heavy to be a race car, too nasty to be a nice daily, and too expensive to be a budget fun car. It doesn't have a direct competitor because it doesn't match up to anything out there in enough categories to make a fair comparison.
If you believe that go ahead and try one(wathever youre driving). I would not call you a chevy fan, hater maybe lol.

they only got a 14.2 out of the rwd one. So take in the one we own is awd so that makes it a little slower then the RWD one. So once again a G35 is not a 13s car stock

I don't know why there's such bashing of the L99 going on. A better exhaust and a decent tune puts it close to 450-460 hp, and this with a **** load of torque across the powerband. A mildly modified auto SS is something I wouldn't consider to be slow!

Plus, you can argue all you want about tenths, and how close they are, but .2 at the end of a quarter looks a lot like rape.

haha wow so much hate in this thread. I seen the runs of the G35 at the track so did multiple other people and the G35 is bone stock. Ive seen it. Get over people this luxury family sedan is just a quick as your 2 door turbo car. People seem to forget this has particular G has the new VQ35HR motor. not the older DE less powerful motor. They are not as heavy as people seem to think. Curb weight is 3,497 LBS. The DA was excelent that night. we had a less 1,000 DA which is unusual for oklahoma. We will hopefully post a video of my SRT8 Charger vs this G35 when i get my car back rolling again. My Charger goes 13.5ish @105-106 MPH.

after automatic transmission and AWD drivetrain loss they dyno 210-240HP stock, depending on the engine. And weigh 3400-3500LBS.

They are what you would call a slow car.

What cracks me up is the fact he thinks mid 13's are anything to be bragging about.

I have a 350Z now that runs 12's, but I drive all manners of cars and i've driven quite a few of the new camaros and mustangs, v6 and v8 versions (mostly auto, rental cars and such), and the Camaro is the worst driving of the two, and fact of the matter is that it's slower in a straight line. I don't prefer a mustang over anything else, but if we're talking drag cars, it's the superior choice.

How is the SS slower in a straight line? Even the newest Nismo 370z is rated at 13.6 @ 103. vs 13.3 @ 108 for a 2010 SS Auto.

Sorry but it seems pretty obvious this G isnt the way it came off the showroom. Now it might have oem parts on that are considered an upgrade but a heavier 4 dr G auto running .1 faster than a Nismo 370?

Shoulda been clearer, the camaro is slower than the mustang in a straight line, not the nissan/infinity, unless you are talking v6's, since the japs don't have a v8 option.

Ok I will agree with that. Though a track pack 3.7 mustang is pretty damn close to a 370z and for about 10k less

Yeah the Z is far from a drag car. The most heavily modded N/A cars barely reach 12's, and that's only a couple people with gears and real tires. Even on nitrous, there's only a handful of quick cars. They are 100x more fun to drive than a mustang though, the body motions are so much better controlled, the feedback of everything is just so nice compared to the american cars. Sports car vs. pony car.

It's RWD and put's down 260ish whp. It's a 4 door 350Z, the 2nd Gen G sedan weighs less then the 2nd gen G coupe by 200 lbs or so.

Quit hating because stock Infiniti is running with an L99, and running mid 13's stock. Quit bashing my car because I "dared" to compare it with a few stock V8's.

It's clear who is the one doing the bashing here.

He pulled when I let the auto shift for itself into 4th before 1/4 mile marker. If I held it to redline in 3rd he didn't pull.

The Camaro's best time was 13.5, the G35's best time was 13.6. Let's not get confused here.

I had no idea this was another miller thread, about slow accords and family cars that are barely 200hp and weigh 3400lbs. It all makes sense. The troll with the unbelievably slow car got me again
