Stock SS/TC vs. 7 Modded S60 R's
So earlier today I went to "Blown Euros" which is an event in Langhorne, PA where hundreds of VW's get together to meet up and many other types of cars come along as well.
So I caravaned down with two of my friends one who has a Volvo S60R with a tune, downpipe, exhaust, lightweight wheels and a few other odds and ends...claims he is making 375hp...and my other friend who has a highly modded 2008 BMW M5 (he is ridiculously fast and destroys me on a regular basis)
But along the way we picked up a bunch of his Volvo friends who all have S60R's and they also joined in the caravan. Now a number of these cars tried to race me as we got on the highway and amazingly enough even the most modified one of them who claimed close to 400 hp could barely hang with me from 30 - 100 mph and was falling behind at a faster and faster pace. So in total 7 of the volvos tried to race along our route and EVERY one was just crushed by my car....and I am stock so I did not anticipate such a margin of victory.
So something must be up with those volvos because they are either not putting down the power effectively at all with massive transmission losses or tuning.....or they have the worst power band of all time.....decent looking cars, but with all those mods, they seriously lacked the power they should have had.
Anybody have experience with these Volvo's? Seems like a fairly lousy performance variant to be honest if thats the best they can do.
Note: The M5 raced in the 3rd lane for a number of these and as expected it blew us all away by a huge margin.

S60R weighs 3693 lbs. I've had two old Volvo's and always wished I could get the R one day. Then I did the research and found out how much drivetrain loss they suffer from and their weight.
They typically run mid to low 14's (because of the AWD launch) and are trapping around 100mph. I'm not surprised you put the hurt on them.
