A story
Last year I bought this Cobalt SS/SC for the wife, I have my truck and she wanted a cavalier but the dealer had none. She saw the 'balt and thought it was cute, but she wanted a stick and the only stick was the SS/SC. Needless to say we bought it. Not a few weeks go by when a Tiburon pulls next to us on the hiway, she slows to let him pass cause our exit is comin' up, and this Tib slow also, she sped up a little and he sped up a little, well our exit is comin' up in about a mile so I tell her to down shift and let's see what she can do. We dust it, change lanes and exit, as the Tiburon is passing he just stares at us like we did something wrong. In the past year this began to happen more often with the Hiyundai's, Honda's, Nissan's, Mitsubishi's and the like, now we'll go out on a midnight burger run 20 miles into town just to see if we can get a side of rice also. Do we have a problem? So far no incedents but how can we stop before one does.......btw now we want the stage 2.

All I have to say is get use to it.....People do that to me all the time and I have tinted windows. You could remove the spoiler that would probably give it a little less attention. I try to just ignore people unless they tailgate me then I'll take off down the road.
My roomate has a 2005 Tiburon GT 6 speed and he cant even come close to keeping up with my car when I accelerate. What even sadder is when he bought that car I had my 04 Grand Am GT and I told him to buy a Cobalt SS/SC and he bought that instead...neadless to say he regrets the decission now.

This happens about 2 to 3 times a month. This car is fun to drive and its addicting when someone pulls up next to you and wants to see what the SS stands for. The first gear hop and the second gear chirp always do me in, by that time I'm at 60 and slowin' down to the speed limit. Rollin' on the hiway is a different story though it's got a nice acceleration from 50-80 thats usually when I'll let off and the other car will fly by. What's the deal with the flashers? Is that good or bad?

Welcome to the site. And it happens alot where people will toy with you not expecting a whole lot. Its fun to see their reactions when you put them in their place. Oh and once again, welcome to the site.

flashers will usually mean "good race, shuttin her down" kinda thing.
or in the case of someone you just blew the doors off....they will fly by you 10 seconds after the race is over and turn them on as if they beat you.
This is generally known as the "ricer flyby"
always good for a chuckle
