I was gonna post some stuff in the other thread but since I couldn't find it...
This is the current #1 car on Midwest Street Cars.
It can do it on the street as well. Not all of the racing is done on public streets. The local track has nights where you can run the track backwards. Basically, you start near the end of the slow down section of the track on regular old asphalt and head toward what is normally the front of the track. Time and speed isn't tracked. It's straight up "run what ya brung" heads up racing. Anyone saying that they don't want to race on the street has no excuse not to bring it since it's on private property.
LMR answers a call out with... another call out (?)
LMR's fastest car was Corvette that was supposedly 2000+hp. I don't know what their fastest car is now. The Corvette was recently sold to someone overseas. Probably some sheik who saw it on YouTube and got a boner. I don't know the specifics but that 'vette appears to take roughly 4 seconds to go from 60-180mph. It isn't undefeated. It was beaten by a GTR but then beat that same GTR when it counted. The GTR had 500 less hp and I bet it weighed more. Here's that 'vette in action:
If you'll notice (at about 3:15), even a 4 cylinder ecoboost inline 2 ltr with 300psi of boost in a Viper shell hung with those GTRs and the 'vette. LOL. That Viper is actually an OKC guy and former King of the Street Texas Invitational winner. Another one of the GTRs is from OK. You can see his build here:
GT-Rs of TX2K12: T1 Race Development - Auto Blog | Revvolution
(You have to go to the bottom of the page and look at page 4)
Anyway, that's all neither here nor there. My point is that when it comes to a dig on the street, Oklahoma is faster than Texas or anyone else. The only time it's close is when it comes to roll racing. The Texas Invitational features the fastest roll racers from around the country. The title has been going back and forth between TX and OK. So when it comes to roll racing, I'd say it's close and hasn't yet been decided who's faster.
As far as LMR calling out the Street Outlaws guys, I doubt that 'vette (or any other car they have) can go from 0-160+ in a four second 1/8 mile, especially on the street. Hell, I doubt it traps more than 160 in the 1/4 mile.
That's what Midwest Street Cars is all about. It's from a dig on a regular street surface with a street legal car. It's the simplest form of racing there is and no one is faster. Everyone in the country has been invited to challenge them and no one has won. Maybe all the publicity will bring someone from out of state who's faster. I hope so. That way it'll make the local boys go bigger.
The show's decent. The cars, businesses and people are all real. The script... not so much.

^come on now.
To say one state is the fastest is absurd.
To claim it and expect the countries fastest to come to you to claim the "title" is silly
Here watch: I have the fastest hhr and camaro.
Till anyone comes from out of state to prove me wrong, then I claim it as true.
They have some fast cars there.
There are fast cars in every state.
I'm within 90min of 3 nhra drag strips with plenty of street capable high hp cars. They just don't have a show to give them a big head.

I think that's flat out silly talk, calling any state "the fastest", just as its nuts calling anybody out on being "slow" on cars that won't or can't run eighth miles, when they're tuned for quarter mile tracks. You set everything up to be running nuts-out when you hit the traps - and its very different for just that additional eighth on a lot of cars. Its the same as arguing whether a dig car is "slow" when it can't (or won't) run a roll race.

I typed a long reply but screw it... lol. You had to see the previous thread to know the issues I was addressing with my book above.

Fastest street legal dig cars are in OK. Not talking about funny cars or cars that can't even be driven on the streets. That corvette is nothing special on the streets off the line because it can't hook for ****.

This is not proven as they hadn't raced every states fastest street cars..and no one is goin to drive there just to shut them the f up
#15
Drag Week 2012 - last time I checked they ran in OK, correct? Just because they raced there doesn't mean the fastest **** is from there.
Larry Larson won Unlimited. He's from MO.
Erik Yost won Pro Street PA. He's from NC.
James McEntire won Pro Street NA. He's from MO.
Bryant Goldstone won Modified PA. Somewhere from OH or ID.
There's more, and loads of these same guys do the Power Tour and subsequently drag, meaning they are driving the street.
Are you saying that the fastest dig cars are in OK, because they have to commute in and subsequently beat all those OK cars?
#17
What are you saying? On stock/street tires? A 2012 ZR1 does 0-60 in 3.5; 11.9 at about 130 mph, and somehow that's "nothing special"? Last time I checked, that's Viper territory, and running the stock street tires. I don't know; if somebody blitzkrieg'ed me with a 3.5, I wouldn't be worrying too much about how poor their 60 foot time is, or how badly they hooked as they raped me. Seriously, maybe it is just me and my sensitivity about being a full second behind them, but 3.5's are extremely special from street cars!

Oh no....you beat some schmuck dumb enough to drive that far when there is competition here.
So you should def claim fastest state.
Lol....great thinking
And when u say "us" are u doing that thing I hate when people reference the local sports team as "we" won? As if u played.
Or do u have a sub 10 sec car?
Hell with no timeslips on a street race, there is no way to claim fastest unless u race the best of the best from everywhere. Otherwise your just another group with some fast cars.
I'm sure there are fat pockets with guys in TT Gallardos, supras, gtrs, etc that have better things to do then prove a group of good ol boys wrong.
If a top 10 list can only race for 500 and a top.10 car is a pickumuptruck with a crate engine, then something isn't right in okc. Lol...I have neighbors with cars that would serve some on that list a serving of biscuits and gravy.
But guess what, they ain't gona drive to you.
So you should def claim fastest state.

Seems like so far everyone has pussied out and says their faster but are scared to drive here just to have their a$$es handed to them, I can understand why they don't want to come. LMR for example, everyone rides Larry Larsons d!ck.
Btw wasn't "some schmuck" as you like to put it, it's a few very reputable street legal cars from Chicago. Don't get mad because we sent a few of your Illinoisians home broke and crying!

^^^ lol ya sure.
you must be best friends with everyone on that list. where are you in the show?
your logic is idiotic. like some people care to drive across the country to prove you all wrong. they have these things called lives.
if these were the fastest "street cars" they wouldn't be trailering them to the "street races" they'd drive them. most of these people are all gay. they need to stop crying and hugging each other and actually race a real street car.
farmtruck is the only real street racer on that whole show because he drives it everywhere.
regardless miller you're still an idiot swinging you e-**** around like you are "in the scene".

I don't care a few guys from IL lost.
I'm not a "we" person.
Anything cm spit out doesn't negate the fact that no one wants to drive to there. Note the proper use of there btw.
Not everyone needs to swing their (used right again) man parts to prove anything. Especially to a group of unregulated backyardagans. Meh.

04silverwrx and I are members of local car group called Midwest street cars. That's why I say "we".

Why should anyone drive there to street race when no one there drives to their own races. .....Trailer queens

Watched the First Episode and instantly knew I wouldn't watch any more. Horrible show, Worst script ever. Seriously you can't make a show about street racing THAT scripted and think anyone will believe it. And I agree that even though those cars are technically "Street legal", Those are FAR from "Street Cars" if you can't drive it to the race then it isn't a street car. Also, I was also thoroughly disappointed that one of the top ten cars is a crate motor pickup....NOT SAYING I OWN A CAR THAT WOULD RUN ANYTHING THEY HAVE, JUST SHARING MY OPINION
