So some guys from Ok got together and made a National TV show about high stakes street racing. Good for them. It's a show about street racing, the plot isn't going to be that of a JK Rowling novel. It is what it is.

OP is excited to have this going on under his nose. I think everyone understands his level of involvement in the show itself....
And some people out of state are mad about said claim of OK having the fastest street cars? Well what do people expect them to say? "Well, gee, yah I guess my 1200 vette is slow then cause I am not in OK.." Expected reaction IMO.

Personally, I like the concept. Im a car guy so I'll kinda watch anything if it has racing in it. Hell I watch bomb hunters... And you can't say that in todays world of reality tv shitshows, this is really THAT bad. We are in a terrible era for TV right now in general.

And seriously all this hail damage talk and taking runs at Rissa is really pointless. What the **** anyway? Some people don't like skinny bone asses. Some people are even down with the bubble butt. Whatever... I'm not down with the cattle crossing tho.
We used to blast this out the window when a Rig' would be sighted...

Can't we get back to talking about this show?

I love the Farmtruck. Wicked idea. I wonder what the OK Police think of all this going on under their nose. I bet they have paid a nice friendly visit to My Farmtruck recently....

I can't see there being a season 2 without someone doing time...

If you don't realize the police are in on this and collecting a nice hefty check you are a fool. This is not going on underneath their noses...

I dunno. I am back n forth with that. I think in one way they are in on it and in one way they aren't....

There is no way they would condone street racing in any way and let Farm truck do those highway pulls into oncoming traffic. That's just my2. It just sends the wrong message to set some dude, his dog, and a chinese kid loose on a public highway to take runs in a 1000hp 5000lb truck....

I also can't see them letting 2 1000whp cars do a run during the day in an industrial park. I could be wrong though, but I hope I am not. That is just insane. The risk it too high.

Now... I could def see them staking off a safezone for the featured races etc and having a hand in that.

Bottom line if the police are putting money in their pocket and putting people lives at risk, they are in trouble.
Also, how would you feel if one night they take money and allow this, and the next night you get dealt a biscuit for street racing?

And they are on film and identifiable doing those highway pulls, that is enough to actually get charged with crimes yet that isn't happening.

This was even in OK, the very state this show takes place!

They have clips of police cars but I don't see them during a lot of these segments that are pretty sketchy. What episode shows the cop cars watching the race? If thats the case, it's pretty brutal IMO. They don't have the authority to rezone a highway into a dragstrip last time I heard and could be charged themselves... LOL

I hope Im not coming across like I really give a **** cause I don't. More curious.

Like any event, as long as the city ok's it (gets paid) and they section off the road and make it a "closed course" its fine. Cities block off hundreds of city blocks all the time for things. This is no different.

It's not that easy, but even still that's what I am saying in my first post. I can see them getting involved in the feature races to section off an area of private property.

Now show me the episode where you can see the police sitting back watching the highway runs and proof they are getting paid to let em go.... I am guessing there isn't any.

You can't just walk into city hall and say "Hey yo, I'm running my buddies Civic on Sat night, hook me up with a permit to shut down I-69... here's some cash" That is anything but 'Like any event'.

You act like kids in a Civic are going to give them millions, because that is more the scale we are talking about but go ahead and keep believing its real. You are part of the audience they are catering too.

lol it's like any movie shoot. city gets paid big bucks to shut down a section of road. place some cop cars and film a show about street racing that isn't actually real.

kind of like every other "reality" show on TV.

Its like those shows where they show the guys making moonshine. You see their faces, you see them showing where they make it and how.. But do they get in trouble?

I hate reality tv. Which is everything there is these days. All it does is make everybody a misinformist. They make you judge people for how they act and what they do when all they really are are paid actors.

It really just grinds my gears. People watch like... Storage wars, for example. They will say, "oh that guys stupid; i would dump his gf and buy that storage locker" when it was all staged in the first place. Noone keeps 20k worth of rare baseball cards in a storage locker and forgets about it come on now haha

I don't even give a ******* **** in the first place. Of course a majority of it is above board. There's some pulls clearly into oncoming traffic. Seems a bit much to stage but what do I know. That's all I was questioning.

I think you are seeing what you want to see in what I am saying and lot really understanding. Of course I think the police are involved....It's 'reality TV'.

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me when some show has the host going to the front door to surprise someone and there's already a camera inside shooting the person who's going to be surprised as they open the door to be surprised.... that's fake???? I'm surprised. Surprise.
