you should, stock for stock, but you'll have to fight for it.

He's heavier, and has a little less horsepower than yourself, so you have an edge, but like said, you'll have to fight for it. Unless he has mods, you should win.

Get the 5speed for starters and that should be about it.

he does a small low end grunt advantage, i think... so maybe through 1st the tib will have you... lucky for you, you can't screw up the launch and you're in a faster trapping car.

Tib is only 24 pounds heavier. SS 171hp/163tq, GTV6 170hp/181tq. Yeah, 1hp less than the SS, but 18 more pounds of tq make up for that 1hp. I honestly dont see why everyone is so quick to say the SS will win. Very comparable specs, but with him having the manual and a decent driver, and you being auto, I'd have to say Tib will win, stock for stock. Start adding the same bolt-ons to each car, and the Tib will really show it's potential.

Was this really necessary? 3k is alot of money BTW.

Anyways, yea, you should take him. It shouldn't be a walk by any means, but as long as you don't somehow screw up the launch, you should take him.

I dunno bro. I'm still in favor of the SS. We all know that Chevay underrates its vehicles. On Chevy's site it says it has 173 hp and 163 pound feet of torque. It will be a close race. BTW I like Tiburons.

And also we have a person here in the 2.4 who says he walks Tiburons.

i have a 2.4, a tib V6 isn't really a threat. if he beats you bad enough in a stop light gran prix he had to have some work done, simple as that. otherwise, i'd say it's a good/bad luck/skill thing.

but, as said, anything can happen, i got RAPED by a Tc the other night, wasn't anything obvious done to it, but i fouled up my 1-2 shift after a crappy launch... it happens, i don't lose sleep over it.

I used to own a Tib 4cyl, which is why I defend it. I spent alot of time on Tib forums when I had mine to know what the 6 is capable of. If I can pull a stock Auto 2.4, Im sure a man V6 Tib can. Most 2.4's I've seen on here that were stock or had I/E were putting down anywhere from 140-152 to the wheels. The V6 Tib stock puts down about 150-155 to the wheels, and just an intake adds 15whp. They're both comparable, he should just run when he gets his 2.4 and let us all know what went down.

i love tiburons.. thats quite a bit of torque there bamfn.

i also love cobalts..but i would have to say if he's a good driver, and you have an automatic, he'll win. itw ould be different if you got a 5speed..

my best friend has a 05 gtv6 6 speed , intake, exhaust, his best 1/4 was a mid 15 and we have raced from 55 and the 2.4 will walk the tibby by about 1/2 car legnth up to 80 and it gets worse from there, a 4cyl tibby will not even touch a 2.4ss, he was playing with you. a stock gt v6 hp is 140-150 with a 6 speed, 137-144 auto i know, i did the research, there is a dyno right down the page with a 159whp with intake and exhaust, not bad but the weight is an issue, and the 4cly anly dynos at 125=13- at the wheels bud do a search,
cobalts 2.4 are dynoing over 160 whp with just I/E
i do have a video for proof on my run in with my buddys gtv6 tibby, send me a pm and ill email it to you.

race your buddy, it will be close but the 2.4 will pull away
