cobalts 2.4 are dynoing over 160 whp with just I/E
i do have a video for proof on my run in with my buddys gtv6 tibby, send me a pm and ill email it to you.
race your buddy, it will be close but the 2.4 will pull away

tib V6s are junk, if you want to boost one, stick with the four.

Plenty of people are boosting the v6's with quite reliable results.....have a clue before you talk trash. Just because you blew your engine doesnt mean its impossible to boost the delta found in the tibs sonatas and santa fe's that are in the Hyundai line. Why do you elaborate on WHY you blew it up. Last I checked there are quite a few SS/SC's having some problems too...
Now back on topic. Stock for stock I'd have to call it a drivers race just really depends on which one of you gets the first jump

I honestly think you would be able to get him. I test drove a brand new Gt v6 and it was complete crap, waste of a v6. I also test drove a hyundai sonata which you could tell was much quicker. I think the tiburon is more for show, but thats not saying much.

IMH(noob)O
I test drove both a 06' SS(not SC) auto and an 06' Tib GT like thirty minutes apart.
I shouldn't have driven the balt first. I used to really like tiburons.
The tib felt sluggish in all gears and steered like a boat. The acceleration wasn't even comparable. Plus it felt like the suspension was comprised of rubber bands and jello.
You can tell by the fact that I'm here what my final decision was.
Maybe it was just a technical defect in the one car i drove, or perhaps someone screwed up tuning it, but it wasn't a pleasant experience. Sorry if I offend anyone partial to hyundai, but there was no comparison.
Besides, this is a Cobalt SS forum, We should be bashing other cars, Right?
Hell yeah I'm right.

the tiburon, even gt is not performance minded at all imo. i dont mean to offend you plash, or any other tiburon owners, but when i drove it, it handled worse than my mustang and was pretty sluggish. it is a very good looking car, and its pretty comfy and a nice cruiser, but not the greatest buy if you are lookin for performance.
