well i was lookin around to see waht my options are when i was buyin a car i looked at it. i couldnt even fit in it. im so tall. thank god for the height adjustment inour car. it was really that fast. i think it would be a decent race for a 2.2. most of the stories im hearin is that the SS 2.4 will blow away the tib. ne thoughts?

well great driver in tib vs crappy driver in 2.4 it is a good race. great drivers in both = 2.4 win. But you need to realize that on the street, the faster care doesn't always win if it is just a bit faster. it is pretty common for the slightly slower car to win because of the driver. no doubt the v6 tib is a nice car and pretty good for the money all things considered, but performance wise, like i said before, it is not nearly one of the best buys.

i agree the stock tibs are sluggish, you are preaching to the choir...why do you think mine is modded? I still think stock for stock, with both having autos, or both having manuals, its a drivers race

i cant wait to race one of my friends with a 6 speed v6 tib with cai and cat back exhaust. i think hes pretty quick. i played cat and mouse with him on the parkway and i couldnt pull on him i could just keep up.

so yesterday i was in my buddys tib. 05 5spd and i thought it would of been alot faster. i got a call from my other friend saying he killed a ss/sc. he has a 03 tib with major bolt on. intake, exhaust,headers,downpipe,intake manifold.....i beilieve the cobalt he raced was stock. but still...he is auto..with "tiptronic". is this possibly..i dont really beileve him.

alot of people are really oblivious to the fact that there are two d\ifferent cobalt SS's he prolly raced a 2.4 and said it was S/C.. just my thoughts

phlash you can look on newtiburon.com for the blown engine thread. I lost $5,000 from the shop. They did my paint job and a horrible install. When they took off my valve covers to powder coat them, they never covered up the engine and the hood was off getting painted. So I ended up getting tons of dirt in my engine. Along with a lot of other things they did wrong. So it's quite the sore subject and put a huge hole in my pocket.

nah it was a ss/sc. well once i get mine ill show him...im orderin a 07 ss/sc prolly this month so after the snow ill be ready to take it out. but he has the v6 in auto...but u think it could beat a stock cobalt...i dont think so. he said he had him by like 4 car.i doubt it...hmmm

2.7 gtv6 tibby is no match for ss/sc.. My step brother has 1 and he wanted to race me... i raced him to 2nd gear cuz thats all it took.. he got me off the line by about half a car, but soon as i hit 2nd gear i gave him a good 2 cars from 1st 2 second.. It would be more interesting if u was racing a bicycle on a dirt bike..
