I wish worthwhile people would race me All I ever get is rednecks in pickup trucks when I'm in the 350Z. Well actually I had a douche nugget in a 325i try me the other day. I raped him, he did a fly by and gave me a dirty look... Poor guy.
When the 300ZX was up almost every time a random person would start playing the second mine would blow off they would back off. I had one kid in a Prelude follow me home after I spanked him and sit at the end of my drive way staring at me for like 5 minutes. I motioned for him to come up and talk but he drove away. Then came back by 30 minutes later driving really slow staring

lol somehow your Z revived the legacy of the Z thats how bad it was, both still dog **** slow. Its a cool dinosaur but they have problems...and it doesnt begin with a econobox walkin em everywhere stock.

Like I said if you consider a 300zx TT dog **** slow then the same would apply to the cobalt and any other car in that time range. For a 3800lb car that is 20 years old I'd have to say they still hold their own. Neither of my Z's have anything to do with it. Neither is a twin turbo.
But your 350Z revived the Z after the 300TT mean much? and the cobalt ***** on both of them stock (even in most cases with the disadvantage at the track..)

The 300XZ TT has a horrid power to weight ratio, does good in a 1/4 mile because its RWD. The low end TQ from the turbos helps in a 1/4 as well. Not very complex lol.
Its no surprise that the TC with just a tune can take out a lot of vehicles considered fast from 1988-1998.. etc etc :| Give it 10 years and im sure they will have economy cars that are cheaper much faster than our TC's, having the same conversations lol
Cobalt TC is a dinosaur.. my 2020 yaris stock rapes that thing

i dont understand if you want me to think were only comparing them to running a 1/4 mile or what. Z was good for its time As A Sportscar

The 350z was never meant to compete/replace the TT. Until the VQ35HR the 300 ate the 350 for lunch. The purpose of the 350 was revive and return the Z to it's roots. To be cheap and fun to drive. The TT was all about performance and not sparing any expense. And still isn't "dogshit" slow as you put it. Your buddy's might be a heap that definitely didn't reflect them as a whole.

The cobalt has 20years worth of newer technology than the 300zx TT. It should be better in every way. Its debatable whether it is or not.

The 300ZX TT had a power to weight ratio of about 11.5lbs per HP. That isn't god awful really. That is about on par with a SS/TC. It also depends on the trim 300ZX you got and whether it was an automatic. The automatic cars were limited to 280hp instead of 300. Some of the trim levels were very heavy others not so horrid (still heavier than I would like).
Derek's car is fast, no doubt about it, but you guys seem to think 300ZX's are turds. You've apparently come up against some beat to death ones or poorly modded. Like my 300ZX, there are hardly any Z31's that are fast, mine has turned some heads. I was hoping to run Derek's SS/TC but I busted a shift fork laying the smack down on a modded Ion Redline, before I got to run him.

Nice kill. There's a built 300TT around here that is wicked fast. Comparing a Z32 to a Cobalt is comparing apples to oranges. Two totally different machines, of which I love both.
