TVS vs WS6.. no vids.. short
Gonna make this super short because I hate long ass "war stories" & there's not even much too it..
My mod list is...
2.6/TVS/60’s/AEM Meth Kit/ ZZP S3 Heat Exchanger/ Dual Pass + Option B/ZZP 3” Intake/ Bad Mab Header/ ZZP 3” Catted DP/ZZP 3” Cat-Back Exhaust
Wideband & Interceptor in Dual Gauge Bezel
Tuned by WickedSS2005
Driving on a road about to get on the highway.. notice a ws6 2 cars up.. get next to him on the highway.. he laughs at a stealth that drives by.. I got friends with me so their nagging em on.. about 65-70 mph.. I'm in 3rd, couldn't tell ya what he's in.. he goes, then I go.. we're like neck and neck for a second and I just start pulling suuuuper hard.. wasn't expectingd that.. let off at about 120-125.. couple cars ahead.. the end
No clue on his mod list, or year or anything. Just know it was a ws6.. anyone have any idea of what was prolly done too it? A cam and bolt on ws6 usually makes about 380.. so thinking possibly that? I mean his car is tremendously heavier..
He had only him.. I had me, and 2 others..

WS6 is a code that Pontiac used (mostly on the Firebird) over a period of about twenty years - it was primarily associated with suspension upgrades;
I have Sales literature which calls one of my options "WS6" on my Grand Am (but the option code is actually W32);
The late model (fourth Gen) Firebird's with WS6 came in two distinct flavors;
1996-1997: LT1 = 275hp w/o WS6 & 305hp w/WS6
1998-2002: LS1 = 305hp w/o WS6 & 325hp w/WS6
Both types of car could be had with automatic, and manual transmission ~ so automatics would probably be more ill-suited to the type of driving you mentioned...

with his setup (from what I'v e read in this thread) ALOT will hinge on his tune;
but if he's running stock slugs, and everything is keeping together, he should be under 300hp...
(because at 300hp the pressure is great enough to break the upper ringland on the stock LSJ slugs)
I would think that a decent tune, or GMS1 would be fairly comparable to a TVS'd LSJ.... since they're both around the 300hp mark...

hmm true, I thought most TVS LSJ cars are somewhere around the 350 whp mark. at least with 2.7in pulley and meth.
I'd have to have a pretty aggressive HP tune to hit 350 WHP, unless you are talking E85 lol

I am though saying that if you're pushing over 300(b)hp, that you had better have changed your pistons, or one of these days something will go very bad.
One of the locals had a TVS for a short spell (I can't recall which pulley he had);
He thought it was running good, but decided to take his engine apart to swap on a ported head when he found busted ring lands...
In summary:
I hope that if you are on stock slugs, that your horsepower numbers are high, OR, you've got high quality aftermarket forged pistons in there.

My buddy has an 02 TransAm WS6,( with built head, cams, full exhaust, strange rear-end..etc) Car dynoed around 420 I think? Most "muscle" cars are built for track, not the road. He ran 11.2's last year without built head

I'm not trying to assert that I'm faster than you - that's just not my style.

Yea idk what that guys talking about, you are well over 300 with your setup. I mean I don't know how your tune is, but I'm guessing it's on the aggressive side, or why else would you be running meth
