why are the ss s/c's getting owned on the you tube videos?

i have been to atco nj 4 times, and it seemed everytime my r/t got better my 1/4 times were better.
anyway, my first time i stalled at the line, and my r/t was almost 6 seconds... a pretty good run.. my time was 20.4.. so i think it starts when the tree goes down man
did you not look at my signature?

Reaction time has nothing to do with 1/4mile time.
Are you sure you are reading the slips right???

I look at it like so what if the vids show slow Cobalts. That's better for the fast guys. Let them think Cobalts are slow. People get a rude awakening when it's their turn on the street. That's all that matters.

that is a good point, although i'm not considering myself one of the fast guys (faster than stock, but not that fast)

Stock I run consistant 14.2s @ 100mph. I know alot about the track and reaction time does not effect your 1/4th mile times. Just thought I would let you know since I worked at a NHRA track here in PA. However in some types of racing you need to make sure your reaction time is on par because they effects your points in certain compatitions.

You have no idea about his track or the preperation it had on that day. Maybe at that track stock SS/SCs are mid-high 14 second cars.

i dont know why everyone is bashing me and my time... all i started this thread for was to talk about the people street racing in their cobalt and getting street raped on you tube.. not 1/4 mile times.. we all know what the ss s/c is CAPABLE of running stock
by the way.. how many times did you run it? i've only been down the track 4 times, and once i stalled, so i really don't have alot of practice

its a lil sumthin called altitude, the higher up you are the slower the ET's. in calgary we run about 14.7's, same thing we move down to sea levels and we'd run the same 14.2's you are stock

i said it earlier in the thread.. so if you read it all u would have already known. but i really don't care that i'm not the best driver in the world.. i'm merely saying that people that drive like me, should not be street racing people, filming their loss and then posting it on you tube, thus making the cobalt look like it is a dog

Atoc is pretty bad...it got better after the "restoration" but I still hate it. Go to Englishtown....it's known as the "fastest" track in the country but when you run, take the right lane
