not exactly bull ****. The m5/m6 have two modes, the lower of which puts the brake horsepower around 400. Couple that with the weight disadvantage they would have with a ss/tc and his mods and it's possible. But in kill mode, they put out the full 500 hp, and that's a whole different story. If he was cruising around and didn't press the button to switch modes, then it's believable. I think the guy in the m6 knows that as well.

if you do the math, it's possible. The m6 in p400 mode, where it puts out 395/383 is the lower setting for the m6. So a drivetrain loss of lets say 20% would result in a loss of 79 hp so the power to the wheels is now 316. Put that with a weight of about 4100 lbs (the weight for the m5 since I have it right in front of me) and compare. If his car is putting out power anywhere around 300 to the wheel, he still has about an 1100 lb weight advantage on the m6. Pounds per horsepower friend. Math doesn't lie.
lb/hp-
m6 ~ 13 in p400 mode
8.2 in p500 mode
ss/tc ~ 9.8

^^^^ thats exacly wat i was talking with the guy.... power to weight ratio its a biiiig difference.... he has over 1000 pounds more than me.... we raced two times.... first we did a 40 roll when he was in first gear.... i beat him by like 3-4 cars.... then we did another 40 roll him in 2nd gear.... i beat him by half a car or a car.... not going to lie i thought i was going to get killed but the power to weight ratio has a lot of game in this race....one the engine of the M6 weights a looot....v10
plus im pushing 312 WHP and 342 WTQ

I would definitely take the m6..., actually I'd rather have the cts-v which is also faster than the m6. Those two cars are pretty damn close. But the numbers show the power to weight ration is slightly better for the caddy than the bimmer.
once again...
m6 4109/500 ~ 8.22
cts-v 4292/556 ~ 7.72
what's so hard to understand? I just showed you with numbers not mythical facts, that if he wasn't in his p500 mode, both drivers being equal, he loses!
That's it.

Just to be cyrstal clear the 2006 BMW M6 was tested by R&T in Feb of 06 and it turned a 1/4 mile in 12.4 sec and knocked off 0-60 in 4.1. Thats a TALL order to beat and the reason so many are finding this so difficult to believe.
