once again i said i lost and that i would probally lose again but i was suprised that i hung with him as well as i did. in all reality i should have been destroyed but i wasn't. i was as i said. and honestly modded ws6s only run in the 13's from a roll the cobalt can be semi competitive if you have the right driver behind the wheel.

How does a car run 13s from a roll race?

ET doesn't factor in during a roll race, trap speed does.

My LS1 when stock trapped at 107. With Long tubes, a lid and the other bolt-ons, I was trapping at 111. No bolt-on cobalt would even be semi-competative. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Yup, maybe "usually" this is true, but not this time. I happen to have a few friends wih both LS1s and LT1s and know just a little bit about them. My buddy with a 2002 SS dynod at 310hp/ 333tq bone stock. "Usually" LS1s dyno between 300-315 and there are factory freaks that dyno at even more. Maybe before you jump to conclusions about me you should try talking to me about things you assume I dont know. thnks.

IDK actually, I just ran through Camaro production numbers and there were more SS manual coupes than auto ones (except for 2002). I can't find a breakdown of WS6 since it is not a model like the SS, but who knows?

breakdown......either he was playing with you, or there was something seriously wrong with his car.

Oh and where do you get this? that a modded LS1 runs 13's? WTF? I know of lots of guys running DEEP into 12's with basic bolt ons. No cam, no nitirous.

Deep huh? Just how deep we talking here? I just got back from the track (Mind you it was at 5500') and No camaro or Transam I saw dialed in at more than 13.8. (And that one was fast!) I really have no idea what they should be running up here but if a bolt on one is running low 12's at sea level I would think a very high /very low 13 should happen at 5500'. Right?

Not bashing or arguing just trying to learn.

also 7.0l LS7 505hp (bad ass motor!) power per liter 72.14

I think the little 2.0 deserves some credit...

To the poster, good run! but dont think that all LS1's are as slow as the one you raced. They can and normally are very mean.

what you fail to realize, not stereotyping you.. this is main arguement domestic v8 have to deal with import minds.. Those numbers mean very little, when you look at a v8 sports car the power per liter might not be as high as smaller displacement motors but you also dont take into account how "loose" the v8 blocks are.. lets see a small displacement motor slap heads/cam/intake on the car and gain 100+ hp..

American v8s are built like this because how stupid would it be for 500hp (low #) for your avg v8 sports car be? extremely.. people would be killing each other left and right from no DRiver mod

also you fail to realize the 2.0 is a Supercharged application.. take off 12# of boost and your down to about 110 hp range.. giving the 2.0 a NA hp/l of around 55.. which as you just stated.. is lower then the ls1 and ls7

LEVETICUS those numbers mean absolutely nothing!!! i won the cobalt myself and i will admit i will get smoked by every ls1 trans am and camaro on the market. The power per liter is crap. Hands down the ls1 will always be faster, unless u mod the hell out of your car like rob. And then again, with gears intake exhaust and slicks, the ss/sc will get dusted no matter how modded.

Second gear is the best gear in our car so u would maybe be able to stick with him through that, but no way like u described
i hate to raise the bs flag but I raced a ws6 with i/h/e with my stage 2 and he walked me those things are real fast 330+hp=ass handed to me.

I know that altitude effects power, but not sure how 5500' would effect it though. I've seen BONE STOCK SS and WS6 F-bodies run 12.8 @ ~110. Those are factory freaks, usually 2002. Most stock LS1's run 13.3-13.6.

How deep we talkin? 12.19 @ 118mph with a 1.78 60' on 275 Nitto 555R's. Mods: Long Tubes, intake, ram air, lower control arms, torque arm, 4.10 gears, LS6 intake manifold, panhard bar........thats it. Not bad for a stock displacement, no heads, no cam, no slicks. His car is an 00' Camaro SS M6

At 5500, I would be really surprised if a bone stock LS1 broke a 13.8. All I ever hear are those cars running low 14's at such a height.
