Umm...thanks for saying what I said........

I think the part where I said "The LS1s could use a little bit more breathing room" pretty much addressed that, but I guess I was not clear enough. I see that we agree the LS2 is pretty much fine.

And If I am speaking to more than one person I thought it was proper to use the plural version of CAM, hence CAMS. Just like intake becomes intakes. But I could have also corrected myself to address one person in particular and said "a cam", or "an intake".

And also since your brother works as a Q/A I'm sure he's seen every single STi to roll of the line since 2004 when they were introduced in the USDM, and has seen every single one of them run at the track bone stock. Do you have video evidence of a GTO going 12.8 stock? I want a complete walk through of the car, I want the camera man to pull the air box just so I can see that it still has the factory paper filter in it. Otherwise your claims have no legitimacy. See how ridiculous what you are saying sounds? I hate to burst your bubble big guy, but some STi's do go 12.9 stock, just like some GTO's go 12.8 stock.
Wow, missed this reply. As a matter of fact, the test track they have behind their particular facility means they do drive them. The STi isn't made at his plant, but they send periodic (and random) cars off the line over to test them. He drove one before they were even available to the public here. He also got to drive the Baja prototype (I was lucky, they were out this way test driving it, I got to drive it too but only in the parking lot :P Not a bad car, just not an American type of car). He was involved in a high speed crash on that track with another car (they decided for beautification to put trees where you enter the track..and can't see another car coming at 70'ish MPH. That's since been fixed). So yes, he DOES get track time in quite a few subarus. Far more than you do, I'd wager.

Video? Now a Cobalt guy is asking for a video. Wow. If I owend a GTO, that'd be role reversal.

Fascinating, sounds like a fun job. So, he doesn't take every single STi that rolls off the line to the track where he expertly drives it to the fastest 1/4 mile ET? They don't make STi's at his plant you say? So what you're trying to say is that while your brother may be knowledgeable on the Baja, which will not be produced for MY08 in the US, he doesn't quite have the all encompassing experience to say that no STi will run 12.9's. As far as the fact that he may drive a larger variety of Subaru's is also irrelevant to the one in question, the STi. You don't need to track a Legacy GT to know how an STi will perform, you would need an STi for that.

Don't dodge the point, and just take a glance at my sig, I'm not a Cobalt guy. You can't produce the video showing that every single detail is stock down to the paper filter any more than I can. However we've both seen beleivable reports of our respective cars running the times we claim. The only difference is, I'm not such an ass that I have to holler for video proof to beleive what should be obvious, STi's can run 12.9's, GTO's can run 12.8's. Re-read the post you quoted for a more accurate interpretation, I think you may have missed a sentence or two.

For sure the LSX powered cars are fast. It's hard to beat an LS2 torque curve. Too bad they don't have an AWD, 4 door car featuring an LS2. I'd be all over it, until then I'm sticking with those who do have AWD, 4 door cars and wagons.

They will have a RWD LS2(I believe) powered G8 coming out that's gonna be pretty sick

Ur saying stis trap 102...which is a slow trap for a stock one

Ur saying gtos trap 111...they dont do that stock so your obviously referring to the trap in your sig which is not stock.

Im saying compare apples to apples...

How is it not relevant?

Ok, we will split hairs.

Stock LS2 GTO's Can Trap over 110mph.
Stock LS2 GTO's Can Trap 110+mph.

Either way you cut it:

Stock LS2 GTO's Can out trap a stock STI.

your wording is wrong. It should be CANNOT trap over 110 since that would include 110 and all decimal points of it

Saying it traps 110+ is false because no stock ones have gone over 110. The statement 110 or below would be accurate

Yes they can...just like an stock sti can out corner, launch, brake, slalom, autox, and road race a stock gto.

110.00000000000000000000000000000000001 IS over 110. Last time I checked...110.91 is over a 110.

Since Slo Sho trapped 110.91 in a STOCK LS2 GTO...this would contradict your statement "Saying it traps 110+ is false because no stock ones have gone over 110. The statement 110 or below would be accurate".

The only thing I was wrong about is that hooked on phonics worked for you...it obviously didn't.

Maybe this time you will try to "E-NUN-C-ATE"

What the hell is enuncate? Are we making up words?

Haha... if you're going to insult people on our forum about their grammar... at least use spell check.

PS. I see what DJT is saying. It's the same as saying you run 12's in a stock GTO. 12's includes all decimals of 12. It could be a 12.9999999 and you'd say that you run 12's. He's saying they trap 110 and below.... as in 110 and any decimal thereof... up until 111. Makes sense to me.

WTF? Your joking right? Your trying to tell me that the fact I was being a smart ass and enunciated the word enunciate went right past you???

dense much?

Makes sense to me.
After the enunciate comment...I see why.

110.01 is over a 110...simple math here people...not sure how...nevermind...it obviously doesn't pay to try and teach decimals and fractions to those that failed reading and or basic math for that matter.

Bottom line is 110.00001 is over a 110.00, might not be by very much...but it is great than 110. Stay with me now....therefore...110.91 is GREATER than 110.

He wanted to get technical so I did...technically speaking...110.91 is GREATER than 110 period. Sorry that when you tried to "split hairs" it didn't work out to your advantage...but it is a fact.

Over 110 implies 110.00001 and above to infinity...110+ implies the same thing

All in all proper wording would be stock ls2 gtos CAN trap ANYWHERE BELOW 111 (indicating 110.99999 and less)

Also depends if your looking at it from a digital or analog standpoint (in digital 110.91 is 110 in analog 110.91 is 110.91) leaving out rounding for a true 0 or 1 calculation

Tell you what...I will trade you 110 dollars for 110 and 91 cents all day long if you want? They are the same thing after all. After 100 times when your down 91 dollars..don't come crying to me that you want your decimals back

All in all proper wording would be stock ls2 gtos CAN trap ANYWHERE BELOW 111 (indicating 110.99999 and less)
touche.

I agree.

Whoa whoa whoa... I made a sarcastic joke and you reply with insults? Let's try to have a mature conversation please.

No one here argued that 110.0 > 110.01. I simply said I understood what DJT was saying... which was all in the wording... not the math. If you really think that anyone was arguing that 110.0 and 110.8 weren't mathematically different... then you're calling the wrong people dense.

FYI... before you start throwing out insults at people, I have an engineering degree from one of the top programs in the nation. So as for not passing "basic math"... how about "Matrices and Diff Eq" (aka Calc 4) was one of the easier math courses I took.
