My stock GTO beat a Cobalt with Stage 2, Dp, Intake, 2.9 pulley and high flow mufflers. We went from a 60 roll and I put two car lengths on him each time. We ran about 3 times. He is a good friend of mine and we are going to do some more rolls from different speeds to see if the outcome is different.

Oh **** the m-word was used, why not just throw on a meat suit and jump into a lions den.
My meatsuit comes equipped with a big turbo. Better be some fast lions

It takes every mod in the world basically, plus my tuning to keep up with my GTO. Granted the silver cobalt is really fast on its own right and this past Saturday it beat one of our local forum members Twin Turbo 350Z's at Speedworld.
I bet Allshots buddy would give him a better run for his money with one of my tunes.
That would be a Stage 3 cobalt + bolt ons. And all you have on your GTO so far is a Cai?
My rims came chrome. No paint for me.
We should rename this thread "Cobalt owner's who now own 2004 torrid red M6 GTOs". Isn't that what all of us pretty much have?

Between 30 and about 45 would be a bangin spot for the Cobalt, as well as from 65 and up...Would I be correct in saying that the GTO's have a decent sweet spot from about 55?? My neighbor has an 04 GTO with a black and red scheme going on, with side pipes, that thing is NOICE!! Sounds freakin awesome as well. Nice guy too

55mph is horrible for M6, 2nd tops @~60.
The camaro has a different trans gearing than the gto from what I hear. And I'm not talking rear axle gearing.
I like 40-45mph pulls, and 65mph freeway pulls.
Auto GTOs are lousy from a roll in stock form. May as well be in a silverado.

The GTO has the 4L65E where as the F-Body had the 4L60E
4L60E ratios = 1st-3.06 2nd-1.63 3rd-1.00 4th-0.70
4L65E ratios = 1st-3.06 2nd-1.63 3rd-1.00 4th-0.70
T-56 ratios = 1st-2.97 2nd-2.07 3rd-1.43 4th-1.00 5th-0.84 6th-0.57
The whole truck statement is laughable since the L65 is just a stornger version of the L60.
All Manual LS1 F-Bodies had 3.42 gears and the Auto SS & Performance Gear Option had 3.23 and 2.73 were standard on Z28's.
All GTO's all years Auto or Manual had 3.46 gaers.
The 3.46 gears make GTO's shift a little different with the Auto also the very aggressive torque reduction doesn't help either. It will retard timing between shifts and right before a WOT downshift. Which is the main reason they suck from a roll after Tm/TR is removed they are a whole nother beast.
