because nothing can lock in the awesomeness of the GTO muahahaha
just kidding lol But im glad I switched, not so much for the little speed gain, but for how nice the inside was in comparison from the balt.... I had mounts and was lowered so it felt like a gocart... the gto feels like a car... but I do miss my XM

I also miss XM, G8 will have it though :-)
Despite the GoKart feel of the Cobalt, my GTO sure make U-turns a hell of a lot tighter. no more wide turns, just point and turn.

It's ok though, you still troll on a Cobalt website, so I may be right in guessing that you do have some deep inner fears of the Cobeys showin you taillights in the future.
Keep this in mind, I am not bashing the GTO at all. I really like them, especially the 06's cause of the tinted taillights. I just think that since we are all GM product owners, that maybe we should try and get along and talk about smoking Dodges or Fords or imports.

What is your boggle?? I mean, just because you moved on from the Cobalt doesn't mean that you have to talk down on everyone that still drives one. There will ALWAYS be something out there faster then the next. You keep talkin all this smack, and you're gonna come across a stealthy Turbo Balt that will leave your head spinning.

i hate the cobalt just like i hate the GTP, but it takes experience to actually form that opinion, i was in love with my balt when i got it and i only wanted to run high 12's but then my goal changed and it would take WAY too much money to make run 11's and way too much time , i just dont like the cobalt thats why i owned it for less than a year, yet my loan on it was for 6 , i rushed into buying a cobalt and i thought i would be able to make it work , ill NEVER worry about a cobalt pulling me EVER ,im still contimplating if i want to put a cam in my GTO which ive had for a month and it only has 7,000 miles thats the only thing holding me back , that and the 2 1/2 years i still have left on my Factory warranty , long tubes and a tune are gonna yield me around 380 WHP and then of course ill have tires , i dont think too many cobalts are gonna be knocking on my door wanting to race and then when i get a cam and put down 430 WHP there wont even be a point in me running people on the street unless there in an exotic
I took mine to the track for the first time, and I will admit that they are not for a new driver to learn how to launch with. My car with a 2.79 pulley, 42's, CAI, cat-back and a tune is more then capable of 13.3-13.4's all day long. That's very mild as far as mods go. Hell, a header and dp combo WILL net a minimum of 10hp to the wheels on our cars. I'm not too concerned about you though, I will have a 4 door S10 Blazer that will take care of you.
By the way, why are you so concerned about beating Cobalts anyways?? You are in the Mach1, GT500, LS1 Camaro, range as far as what you should be competing with.

your car might be faster than my stock GTO , but i wont be stock for very long, and the only reason im stock is becuase i just bought my car , tell me that in december when im making enough WHP to easily click off an 11 second time slip , and thats my point there might be 3 people on this WHOLE site that could pull my stock GTO in there ss/sc / redline , and if you divide those 3 by 50 states , and then count all the big cities within those states the odds of me coming in contact with you on the street is probably less than the chances of me winning the lottery
what dont you understand , i dont run cobalts period , if a cobalt came up to me and asked if i wanted to run and he was on the stock blower with stock internals i would laugh in his face , the last car i ran was a 911Carrera S , msrp of 89,000 , i know who i need to be running thanks for caring though
You must not be paying much attention to the Turbo projects going on. With good traction mods and a couple bolt-ons, the Cobeys are capable of 12's. I would not be surprised to see more and more Cobalts getting into the 12's and maybe dippin into the 11's as the age grouping of drivers changes, and/or they get better at driving this car.
