Must be some terrible drivers in your neighborhood or they were screwing with you.

And I must say I knew my GTO was quick when I had it but why would one act like it's that special when the same engine in A C6 is almost a second faster.

I hauled it out to Formato because I had a new fuel injector stuck open.

It didn't want to run obviously.

Fuel Injector Connection overnighted me a new set and I was good to go.

50K for a 2 seater vette or 30K for a 4 seater GTO? Bang for the buck Ill take the GTO everyday.

If money grew on trees in my apartment I would go with the vette. But since 99% of the people in the US are not made of money, The GTO is a better buy.

I mean either the GTO is way under priced with 4 seats and an LS2 or the vette is WAY OVERPRICED with 2 seats and the same motor thats in a 30K dollar car.

Uhh you can get a Vette with an LS3 for low 40s. So you not only get a hell of a lot better car you get a better motor too.

Im actually not.... I realized that my trans was in '3' from the burnout box, so it kicked it up into D so then when I let off it would drop into overdrive so i could coast to a stop.

I'm not that dumb!

L92/L76 swaps have been putting up lackluster numbers for a while now... overhyped setup.

And to think Pontiac did not even design the GTO. Yet everyone gets in a pissy match that the GTO is gods car.

I paid $40,200 for my new C6 with 2 miles on the clock after the GM rebates and $32,800 for my 2006 GTO. And after doing so I regret ever even buying the GTO to start with. Hell after you repair or replace all the GTO short comings you might as well have bought a C6. Keep in mind the C6 is light years better than the GTO and the extra $10K is worth it.

For that extra money you get:
- Chassis that was built ground up for all out performance
- Better brakes
- Suspension that requires no ugly red replacement parts to work right and handle
- Bigger better wheel tire combo
- Base C6 sound system > GTO Blaupunkt

Not to mention the performance differences which are worlds apart also. I also spent the extra $1700 on the Z51 package that adds 98% Z06 handling and braking.

But for those of us looking for a practicle/comfortable year round daily driver.... and seating for 4 is a plus....

If I wanted a weekend/track car, no doubt it would be a C6... I wanted something I could drive through winter, not have to pay $800 for a set of tires, have the horsepower, be able to seat more then 2 if needed, and take to the track on the weekends... GTO wins.

And GTO Seats are lightyears beyond any corvette's

L92/L76 set ups on the LS2 are not impressive at all.

The L92 Heads are awesome on larger displacement combinations.

Like strokers or the 6.2L

I will say the seats in the GTO are much nicer but you couldn't fit those couches in a C6. As for the capacity I have a 2007 Silverado X-Cab also so it wasn't a big deal buying a two seater. It also helps having a few cars because even my SS/SC didn't see rain or snow.
