QFT...but I try! lol
Here you guys go...for the PMs I'm getting about the wheel set-ups, sorry didnt realize the inbox was a 100 full .
I was out messing with the new cam...Im a newb so the photos are terrible but here are the specs so you guys can achieve some flushnessss and stance in yours lives.
Suspension
-B&G RS2s
-Powell Motorsports Rotated Mounts (FTMFW)
Wheels/Tires
-Chromed Forged C4 Sawblades
-17x8.5/9.5
-235/40/17 Sumitomos
-Motorsports Tech Hubcentric/Wheel Centric Adapters; F: 33mm R: 20mm
Misc
-Fenders trimmed automatically by the rubbers on the rims themselves, plastic FTW....yes, its aggressive haha
^^^ Interior shot just to show you RLs have the best interiors
Final Verdict:
The rear is maxed out on the RS2s, low as they can go, a little disappointing BUT, it doesn't really hinder me much because I have (3) solo baric classics in a box with (3) batteries back there now so it closes that wheel gap right on up.
You lucky bastards with cobalts have the luxury of METAL fenders aka you can PULL THEM So I better see some really aggressive set-ups outta you guys. Yes, the adapters/spacers are legit, the KEY is to get them hub centric to your hub then wheel centric to the new wheel, will ride like stock if not better. They use these in applications from dually trucks to race corvettes, your not breaking these things.
Got the new set-up planned out w/CCW already(guys are so great down there) so the new set-up is going to be nuts soon, this set-up might be for sale. I will say after owning a forged wheel, I can never go back to anything else, I hit a curb at NO LESS than 30 on a turn and I barely nicked these things! Cant even tell they were hit! Forged wheels FTW for life.
As far as riding low, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS on a sub par suspension set-up. To achieve that flush stance on our platforms your gonna hafta get low. The B&Gs use the lower by shock body design so it rides AWESOME in the toughest conditions, the only thing that takes a beating all day is the stock H/E flap, its like my little "how much clearance do I have" detector haha. I snapped the stock end links in a matter of 3 days, all it took was the FIRST steeeep driveway to do it. My down pipe bent clear itself at the lowest point by completely flatening out haha. No exhaust leak yet, on un even roads, it would take a beating. Then again, I am on the worst roads in the country, and I still love being low. Its all in how you feel, of course its no caddy feel being planted to the ground but it damn sure aint like the first vehicle I slammed a while ago with heated springs, cut springs, ebay coils etc etc. If you dont know by now REAL coil-overs OVER all.
Lets get these Ecotecs sitting right

I'm not a fan of your wheels, but your interior looks good! I think I'm going to invest in some Stance coilovers. My struts are toast! I can't deal with the complete lack of damping anymore! lol

Not the biggest fan of the wheels, but i gotta give you props for picking a look/goal and going for it to the end. It's your car, you do what you want. There's always going to be someone who doesn't like it.

^^ Thanks!
Yea the sawblades are love/hate type of wheels for most ppl, I absolutely love em...and there ain't a place on this earth that you could get a cheaper forged light wheel plus I needed a wide wheel to experiment with before I dropped the cash on CCWs. I saw the vdub guys doing them and I was like, if anybody can rock the old school wheels it should at least be a vehicle out of gms performance division haha.
I personally love old school styling....I was just a little too young to drive back then, I loved the era with the wheels like the sawblades on slammed vdubs and imports, always stuck with me, plus I just hate going with the norm, that's why I drive an Ion Redline lol.
Thanks on the input fellas, suprisingly a lot of ppl actually love the set-up, I can't go anywhere without someone saying "are those vette wheels?? ....its looks good!" But yea, I build cars for me ya know, so I enjoy em no matter what, nice plus if someone else does too.
