Wide Wheels Up Front - Ad/Disadvantages
Anyone running a 9"+ wide tire up front with a ~15-30 offset notice anything negative that you would say to stop me from running it? I was hoping to run 9.75s on all 4 corners and kind of debated with myself the disadvantage of having such wide front wheels. I know that a big disadvantage is tire rotations by running staggered and you lose a good percentage of your turn radius by going wide, anything else?
Would rather not have to run a staggered fitment if I can get away with 9.75's all around but I have the option to run 8.25s and would rather not screw myself over and jump the gun buying something too wide that I'll regret.
How much of my turning radius might I lose if I tuck a decent amount of tire?
Plans for Summer
Coilovers: Stance GR+ or BC's, shortened springs, tucking a bit of tire.
Wheel: XXR 527/530
Size: 17x9.75 et +25
Tire: 215/35/17
Fenders: Rolled and pulled
Camber: Front: -1.5ish for a little angle, Rear: however much I can get to minimize rubbing by shimming. lol

Alright, I'll keep it in mind! I don't like oni-camber, just a very small amount to add some flavor so I'll see what it looks like and how it feels with both.

If your not already low u probably don't go sideways
to enter driveways and stuff
-2.4 isn't that aggressive, I'm running -2.4/-2.8 fronts
But you will be deciding when the time comes

I've seen some people with like -3 degrees and their car looks ridiculously angled, yet some who have near 3 aren't quite as aggressive looking. Maybe I've been misreading everything I've seen about other's camber. lol
How wide are your wheels? I've seen it around here before but I can't remember.

There are 8wide so nothing special. I'll be looking into 18x 9.5 in a few months.
Since your gonna run 9.75 camber will play a major factor in how you want it to sit
Need clearance from strut and fender, getting them pulled is good. Glad its on the list

As long as I have like 70% of my ability to turn I'm satisfied and fully willing to sacrifice my 4x4 status for it. I drive pretty slow, don't think I'll be making any 180's anytime soon on a dime or in a rush for anything in my XFE.

I miss being not needing 4 lanes to make a u turn.
PS. I'm stock ride height, stock wheels, stock tire size.
As far as I know, there is NO disadvantage performance wise to getting wider wheels and tires. Except maybe weight.

I'm not as much concerned with performance as I am with the drive-ability aspect of it. I have an XFE so I can't go fast as it is! lol Any chance you might know how much of my turning radius I would lose due to rubbing at 3/4 turn or full lock? I'm expecting to rub on full lock but if I'm going to rub at 50% of my turn I'm going to walk the other way.
