4T65-HD conversion?
Has there ever been discussion about a ZZP 4T65 conversion kit for Cobalts? I know the Phase 5 cars and Brian Ballard's car had the 65 in them. I have a friend with a GTP (with more than a few ZZP parts) that runs low 12's on a 65-HD trans and it seems like a legit trans for as light of a car as a cobalt is. With a decent stall in it and one of your built 65's a turbo Cobalt would drop quite a few tenths if not close to a full second (with a high enough stall speed), and become more consistant at the drag strip. When most people see auto trans it makes them think of people who can't drive stick......on a turbo car that means less RPM drop between shifts if done right, and more consistant launches at the drag strip to me...
I remember seeing the minimum weight in the NOPI rule book for an ECOTEC car and thinking that they had to run a heavier minimum weight because the auto trans gave them an advantage over the stick shift Honda guys.......made sense to me.....what do you guys think?
Have you guys thought about making a full conversion, or a bare bones conversion kit now that Ryan's car has an auto in it?
