Biggest question will be stock issues. How many will they get at a time. I wonder what the demand of this turbo will be. I assume most people who have ZFR will want to upgrade. i know i do.

I'm guessing the demand won't be as high as the ZFR 6758 was because of price and additional engine mods that may be needed to fully support the 7163. I know I will be getting the 7163 after a full engine build. I was pretty excited to hear about this turbo as I want my power to be in the 550 area with fast spool which seems doable with this turbo.

7163 is worth about 30whp over the 6758 on setups running 25+ psi. It is a good choice for 25psi on pump gas or 27 psi on E85/E47.

According to FullRace the EFR 6758 flows 53lbs/min and the EFR 7163 flows 60lbs/min.

So that would be a pretty decent estimate.

Max the 6758 does at 29psi is around 46lbs/min on stock cams. One I did with S1 cams is seeing 49lbs/min at 29 psi. If the 7163 can flow 5-6lbs/min over that real world at 29psi it should be good for around 40-50 whp over the 6758 at that boost level.

Ya cause the max flow of the 6758 is 53 and the 7163 is 60 so anywhere from 5-7lbs/min more I'd guess 50hp over the 6758 will hit my goals tho!

I'm comparing a typical setup swapping to this turbo. The overall potential may be 50-60whp higher, but there are usually other limitations.

Lol.. looks like I have to upgrade my turbo with my engine build this winter :P Out by Black Friday or are we looking at December Matt? And what about pricing?

Also, this may not be relevant since I haven't relocated my MAF, but my scanner says I exceeded 53 lbs/min on the 6758.. If the MAF is relocated, it'll be significantly lower or what? That's what a local guy told me anyways, but then, he has to make up excuses that his turbo is better, even though he's nowhere even close to my current level... next year will be a whole new ball game And there's a lot of local guys supposedly building their **** this winter.. guess we'll soon see.

Screenshot for reference of lb/min on HpT scanner (This was quite a while ago and I believe one of my first few tunes with the ZFR) It's probably not accurate, but wth.. I'll let you guys flame away :P And yes I know the trims are out to lunch LoL I consider myself a novice tuner anyways, but I've had good results so far so I must be doing something right.

With trims that skewed, your MAF readings are going to be skewed too

This. Retune your maf tables properly and the airflow readings will be more accurate. Also very cold dense air.

Lol in other words it would be a great turbo for Road America with its ridiculously long straights, but probably not the best choice for your local auto cross. The 6758 is about the biggest you'd want to go for autocross.

Thats what it sounds like. So a 6758 with an E tune probably do nice on long straights @ a safe psi(~20)

We might decide to sell them on black Friday.

Your MAF frequency of 10,515 hz would correspond to ~38 lbs/min if you are using a ZZP lower charge tube and mounting the MAF there.

Probably not a bad turbo if the lag is just a tad slower (as expected) than a 6758. Possibly 500whp and ~490tq on ethanol at 29psi. Beastly. Not enough airflow for me though

I'm not sure if this has been talked about on here or not. The 7163 introduces a new aluminum center section housing. These turbos are extremely lightweight and also make a little more noise than the 6758.
