Cat vs Catless

Im thinking of ordering the ZZP header/dp combo, should i go with Cat or No Cat. Will i see a major difference from one to the other?\

Also should I do 2.5 downpipe bolt on or the 3" DP with 2.5" exit?

Im going to get the Monza 2.5 catback with the combo

I think you should look at the XTC DP...Almost $50 dollars cheaper for the same thing..

BTW, I wouldn't even bother getting a DP if it wasn't catless...

The CA header + XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe is $380. ($200 for the header, $180 for the de-cat DP). Go with 2.5"......3" is overkill for our cars. Plus, I don't understand why people wanna use a 3" DP to hook up to a 2.5" cat-back......kinda pointless.

There have been dynos showing running with no cat only yeilds around 2hp.

It's not worth the raspy sound and emissions issues. I say with high flow cat.

You just can't WOT your car for 250 miles. I guess that could be a pain.

Guess it depends if you are worried about emissions issues, I believe the zzp high flow cat still sets a low efficency code. Stouffer said he has his light coming on after he got his. Guess just save your old stuff if you need to go through emissions so you can slap it back on. Think eliminating the cat all together will reduce the backpressure too much and actually hurt performance more then it would gain.

Cat-less...... I hate cats. They're sneaky lil buggers that lay in wait until you pass by with a bowl of cereal....then BAM!!! they tackle your feet and you're fruit loops go flying.

I can help you out with the catless code issue anyway. If you're gonna pimp my services, you better partake

Leave the cat on. Helps with emissions and all that jazz. Won't have to keep putting it back on and taking it off. Just get a high flow.

Keep the cat. I've done it to 4, 6 and 8 cylinder cars and trucks and will never do it again. Why? You lose that low end torque and if you are racing, you will notice it. Any that raspy sound will qualify your car as rice, especially if you have a 6 inch fart can. Keep your exhaust quiet and high flowing. I personally like the exhaust quiet so I can 1) listen to the radio and 2) listen for any abnormal sounds the car would make while driving. But hell, to each their own.

Im not worried about emissions, OH did away with e-check/inspections... Its more of a noise thing then anything, if having the cat will keep it a little quieter without hurting performance id like to use the cat anyways.

Still, keep the cat on. Its helpin' your low end...and its emission's friendly.
