Gauge Pod w/RPD Slot
Just wondering... are you guys planning on coming out with an RPD+1 or RPD+2 gauge pod? I'd like to have the option of additional information than what the RPD shows on one page or in general.
All 2010's are going to have the RPD apparently, so this might be a good thing to look into if you all don't currently offer this option...

I would definitely purchase this if you made it. It is an idea I have thrown around many times to myself, but I would not have the tools to make such an item. No need or space for 3, but I would like the ability to have 2 different rpd screens up at once

I was thinking more of an gauge pod pillar with the stock RPD slot plus one or two places for normal gauges.
Anybody able to make something like that?

To be honest this would be easy to do.
It just requires money to make one at home.
A vendor could make one for nothing though.
Take a stock one, and mold it to the top two gauges of an after market one and it's done.

I know of a couple other people that would be interested in it too. I may have to resort to ghetto-rigging if nothing comes from this, though I'm trying to keep a semi-OEM look to it.The RPD has a knock retard readout as a part of the spark page, but it doesn't register knock even where there is knock. I think it's smoothed somehow, which for normal operation for most people may be okay, but not for tuning and then driving without having to log everywhere.

the Speedo bezel guage pods will work for any cobalt. You could go that route, but yes, in time someone will make the A-pillar cover replacements for the RPD+ a guage.

I could just say screw it and go with the whole screen theme with a DashDaq or something. They tend to have more flexibility and "oh-ah" factor, but I like the finished look of the pillar option.

Two friends and I have thought about going that route. That was my last option after this before I would have to start ghetto-rigging.

Why would a consumer pay the mark up to make a mold, when a vendor that makes the pillar could do it for nothing

Seriously, the thought crossed my mind because nobody was stepping up and the need was only growing. I'd much rather go the ZZP route though. I like the quality and OEM finish.

It would be tough to be a vendor when you are mixing two panels. I can see for your own interests, but the cost would be ridiculous for profitable resale

Once the mold was made it would just be a process of creating more from the mold like all the other guys do it. I would basically charge for the cost of making the part plus shipping as a base cost.
