Just talked to my dad, he said he saw the o2 bung pointing towards the drivers door when it was on the lift so i guess its not that either

 

this is really weird

 

Vibrations/humming, but it goes away when I'm in gear, it only happens when I'm in neutral I've only driven it from the side of my house into the driveway since it's been installed though

 

I almost had the same problem with mine, just push the heat shields up or take them off. You can even bend the large 2 fins on the cat.

 

i used to have the same dp as you have now and i remember mine touched the firewall a bit but i dont think it was anything like that

 

the other dude is right, it would be pretty hard to put it upside down...

 

Is the heatshield the tin foil looking thing from the engine bay pics?

 

yep! Just use your mechanical skills! to take off, or to not take off...

 

I'm just gonna bring it back to the shop on friday, tell them what everyone's said, and either have them fix it, or take it off and put the stock one back on for free, since they shouldn't have let it leave the shop, since they openly admitted it wasn't on right, and either find a different place or pay braulio to do it

Also, if I rip the heatshields off, and its actually the fin things causing the vibratation, how hard are they to bend?

 

Send it the **** back. You shouldn't have to hack up the bottom of your car in order to get a part to fit properly.

this is probably the one I sent back last year. I've installed two of the downpipes for stock exhaust manifold. Neither one of them fit well. One was so bad we sent it back for a refund. That particular one was well against the side of the car at the top of the cat.
The shop that installed this did nothing wrong. Either return the downpipe for another and reinstall your stock pipe. ZZP will do nothing until they receive the downpipe and examine it.

 

Dude slowwww down imma tell you what needs to be done i had the same problem almost with all my downpipes, now i installed my gmpp a while back and decided to swap downpipes later so i went ahead and did that but the downpipe kept hitting the firewall, so i readjusted my exhaust i had to push the exhaust forward starting from the closest pipe to downpipe, try pushing the exhaust forward from the back and u'll see it going away from the fireway, keep in in mind i have the gmpp exhaust on which is 3 peices, stock is one piece, but it's definatly worth a try, if need me to send you pics on mine, lemme know...

I'm gonna try readjusting hangers. If that doesn't work I'll pay to get this piece of crap fixed

 

I believe you guys when you say you had this problem. I had the same thing happen to me, not as severe, though. I bent the heat shield to the extreme so the cat wasn't rubbing itl as hard, it still rubbed the heatsheild a bit and vibrated a little. The tail of the extra o2 sensor in the bung for my wideband was RIGHT up against the firewall.

There is no way to change out the extra/front ow sensor on the ZZP downpipes without unbolting them from the header and dropping it a bit. This was ture for my Catted ZZP 3 inch DP and is still true for my catless ZZP 3 inch DP.

There is alot of extra room on the ZZP 3 inch without the cat, so nothing touches the firewall or heatshield besides the ass end of my wideband sensor.

The extra/front o2 thing is not too big of an issue with me, though. It forces me to get under the car and check things out when I want to recalibrate my wideband.

 

Poor design, you can see that the cat is in contact with the heat shield. Pushing your exhaust forward is only gonna put more stress on the flex and the exhaust will just move back to its resting position anyways once the car starts up. Send it back and get the CTI dp from ottp.

 

You could do that... and/or make sure ZZP sees this so they know to fix the OPs problem and make sure future DPs are good to go. I am betting they have seen this thread or other complaints and are already working on this or at least investigating further.
