Thumbs up ZZP Cobalt SS/SC Catback Exhaust

Well, after two and half years of running a Magnoflow exhaust behind my ZZP catless midlength combo I had to break down and purchase another exhaust. The Magnaflow was droning and getting louder by the mile. I had narrowed my choices down to Hahn or ZZP. Obviously by the thread title I chose the ZZP two and a half inch catback.

Let me tell you that Zoomer and the folks at ZZP have hit the mark with this setup! Every slip joint and every bend fit to perfection!! And the sound....best sounding exhaust for the Cobalt by far (and I have owned several)!!! If you are in the market for a quality product with great sound and value priced this must be your choice. No drone in the cabin and I can hear the supercharger whine again.

Kudos to Zoomer and the folks at ZZP for such a great product!

Yes! I have their latest system as well and i gotta say too it sounds PERFEXT! No drone, zero rasp, nice soft pops when riding down gears.

I paired mine with their longtube catted steup... Its all 2.5"

Im a happy camper

Just want to inform those that are in the market for an exhaust. Many, many threads about what sounds the best, etc, etc. No one can go wrong with ZZP's setups. I've owned the GMPP, Megan and Magnaflow.....GMPP comes close but not the perfect diameter for mods.

Catless = endless rasp

Good for those looking to squeeze MAX power and turbo setups. Also ive heard those running meth can clog cats but so far mines still good running meth for close to a year. But yea catless on lsj is way too loud and generally sounds loke crap imo

Actually it is not near as loud as my Magnaflow was. You cannot tell the car is catless. I do not have that many miles on the exhaust yet and it will get louder as time passes. However, there is absolutely no rasp with this exhaust. You just can't go wrong with the ZZP set up!!!

thats good to hear im pretty sure I cloged my last cat on e85 and messed up my engine pretty good. so i just decided to delete it to prevent further issues. but was looking for an exhaust that would sound decent and not real loud.

Nice thing with this setup the muffler and resonator can be replaced separately instead of buying a complete exhaust and cutting welds when they do wear out.

Few weeks bump but...

I see the supercharged version comes with a resonator and the turbo version doesn't... if I were to get the turbo version does it bolt up to an SS/SC and how would it sound without a resonator?

I just did this the other day, with the car owner still in their car on the phone. I waved sorry.

Update concerning my ZZP SS/SC 2.5 inch catback. The resonator has come apart internally. Discolored on the outside, rattles and whistles at idle and light throttle.
I contacted Customer Service at ZZP and spoke to Steve. They have shipped me another resonator under warranty. ZZP has been quick to honor their warranty on this exhaust. No issues contacting or speaking to customer service.
I will update when I install the resonator.

Always a good thing to hear.

Best of luck with it. Zero problems with mine (same as what murley13 has but I have the piece with the resonator too). On 10k miles and still like it, although I can hear it a bit on the highway, forgot about that for a while, having a bad wheel bearing was louder.

Was searching through threads...

I ordered this exhaust on: September 08, 2013.

In early March 2014, my resonator did exactly what shadowfaxss describe. The resonator came completely apart on the inside, rattled like hell.

Got it replaced under warranty.

And now (July 2014) the resonator is shot again.

I'm pretty disgusted with the lack of quality of this one part from them.

Update.....I do believe my resonator came apart for the second time on the inside as well. Going to pull it to double check.

I apologize for the issues on our resonator. We have discovered the failure point, addressed the issue and we're happy to warranty anyone who ends up needing it.

Just got and installed my third resonator.

I immediately noticed (after being told through email) that the inside diameter is larger.

Hopefully this one lasts.

Thanks for the quick shipping
