Just got done installing this header on my Ion Redline. Sounds PHENOMENAL with my Thermal Catback. Thanks ZZP!

Any pics of the shorty downpipe by chance? I need to weld in a resonator that "looks like a cat" so I can pass visual inspection. Plus weld an o2 behind it for rear o2.

My shop will pass it for inspection catless, as long as it passes semi-visual w/ rear o2.

I agree, but if it gets me to pass emissions with no cat, I will throw them back on.

Yeah.. I had one on order in 1 5/8" primaries too.. When I called them they said I was the only, single handed person to order it for a 2.2L, which was when they very first released it.

2 weeks later some dumb lady broad-sides me and totals my car.. I called them and they provided me with a refund. I knew I was getting an SS and I'd need 1 3/4".

I got mine installed a few days ago, I really couldn't tell what kind of gains you get just from the header because I did some other work at the same time. What I can tell ya though, is that it's awefully purdy in place of the stock manifold and dp

Love the sound of it in front of the stock cat back because it's nice and low key/quiet, BUT I'm sure that there's more gains to be had by ditching the stock stuff. Unfortunately I still have yet to hear a nice cat back system for these cars to date (to my audiological appeal anyway).... Maybe I have too high of expectations for the sound of a four banger.......

Yea I've had the gmpp and hahn catback and they sound exactly the same. I'm hoping if I fry this or the ottp longtube it'll quiet the exhaust down a little bit. Have the vibrant header/dp now

I agree with you man, I had the tsudo exhaust and hated it because it was wayy too loud with my header and downpipe. So I decided to put the stock exhaust back on then I heard a few cobalts with the dynomax super turbo muffler and really liked the sound as it was not loud at all just a shade louder then stock.

I had told OTTP I wanted the 1 5/8" header.....it took literally months for them to get the pieces to make one,(i was going to be the first they had made, since xshadowx cancelled) and then they stopped answering my PM's......... So I decided to pass on their product and Ill have a ZZP one this week.

Looks pretty nice! Now if theyd make it to fit an auto! Id imagine this would go well with an sc setup on a 2.4 with some cams from zzp if they decide to do it!

No not yet. But I know theres differences in length (on most systems the difference is in downpipe length) But there can be rubbing issues. But since this is longer than the mid length I dont know.
